Job Description
Position will provide general case management, resource assistance, and process temporary financial assistance payments to Community Initiatives & Programs clients. Represent UWCA at outreach events to promote CI&P programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management, resource navigation, and referrals to clients referred by Community Initiatives and Programs, community partners, and other UWCA departments.
- Assist with special initiatives, emerging community needs and short-term projects requiring case management or client support.
- Assess client needs and screen temporary financial assistance requests for eligibility.
- Support and assist with TFA processing for the UWCA Employee Assistance Program.
- Process POs for TFA payment timely and efficiently.
- Provide backup support to 2-1-1 call center, providing excellent customer service and accurate information and referral to individuals seeking community resources.
- Document assistance in Client Management System timely and accurately.
- Provide community outreach for Community Initiatives programs.
- Comply with special project guidelines and contracts.
- Participation in Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Work experience in a social service environment and working knowledge of community programs
- Ability to work effectively with people and organizations
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit non-judgmental attitude toward persons with different ways of addressing life challenges
- Data enter experience
- Microsoft Office experience
Education/Experience
- Social Work or related degree in a human services field
- 2 years’ case management experience preferred
Requirements
- Valid Alabama driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law
- Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test
- Normal office environment
- Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance
