Job Description

Job Description:

Are you looking for a new challenge and want to actively shape the future of our Supply Chain and Logistics activities? The Logistics Central Services team is looking for an enthusiastic and solution-oriented team member who approaches challenges with a positive, can-do mindset.

Warehouse Technology Specialist

You will bridge the gap between traditional surface management and next-generation warehouse hardware, playing a key role in scaling our exciting physical automation initiatives. By seamlessly integrating advanced technologies, such as high-density cube storage or AS/RS into our footprint, you will directly support our production ramp-up, quality, and cost goals.

If you are highly self-motivated, naturally curious, and possess a deep customer focus, you are exactly right here!

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Our Benefits for You

  • Fair Compensation & Extras: Attractive remuneration and individual additional benefits, such as company pension schemes, mobility offers (e.g., bike leasing), or corporate discounts with partner companies in accordance with our current guidelines.
  • Time for You (and Your Loved Ones): 30 days of annual leave based on our collective agreement (35-hour week); work-life balance through flexible working hours (flextime), mobile working, part-time options, job sharing, and sabbatical opportunities.
  • Growth Made Easy: Excellent professional development opportunities and international, group-wide career perspectives.
  • Feel Good at Work: On-site company doctor; comprehensive health programs (sports courses, preventive care, etc.), canteen and cafeteria, and local childcare facilities at selected locations.
  • Diversity Connects: Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities, where exchange, mutual support, and inclusion are part of our DNA.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Act as the technical focal point for warehouse technology, advanced storage solutions, and physical automation initiatives within the Surface Management team.
  • Analyze and understand warehouse capabilities and capacity constraints to ensure technology solutions fit our physical and operational needs.
  • Enable the rate ramp-up by developing our surface potentials through the integration of cutting-edge warehouse technologies, technological densification, and the reshaping of storage areas.
  • Lead the physical layout planning, spatial integration, and material flow design for both conventional storage and automated systems in new and existing warehouses.
  • Deliver critical technical expertise during the Call for Tender phase: analyze supplier proposals, assess physical space and process feasibility, and identify the best overall business case.
  • Drive the concrete design and physical installation phases of technology projects, coordinating closely with overarching Project teams, System Integration Experts, Facility Management and Operational Logistics.
  • Manage and monitor CapEx and OpEx needs and phasing specifically related to warehouse technology hardware and physical infrastructure.
  • Drive the business and physical transformation associated with implementing large-scale logistics technologies across the End-to-End Supply Chain.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven market and solution knowledge of modern warehouse technologies, intelligent storage systems, and physical automation (e.g., high-density cube storage / AutoStore systems, goods-to-person AS/RS, and automated conveyor networks).
  • Experience in layout planning, surface optimization, and the physical integration of technical equipment into complex warehouse environments.
  • Experience in project management frameworks would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to assess technical and physical process feasibility.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to structure complex contexts and present them persuasively to various management levels.
  • Business fluent in English and German.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: the ability to align, inspire, and drive transformation across complex organizational structures.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
