About the Position

The HR Coordinator works collaboratively with the Human Resources team, administration and peers across the Council to assist with the implementation of the vision, strategy and shared organizational goals and objectives of the Council.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The HR Coordinator reports to the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources and is primarily responsible for undertaking a variety of HR administrative duties; facilitating daily HR functions; providing support throughout the employee life cycle in alignment with business strategy; and contributing to a healthy and effective work environment. This position keeps abreast of changes and best practices in the field of human resources.

Core Responsibilities – Department Specific

Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Administer HR processes to support new hires, orientation & onboarding, promotions, transfers, salary changes, employee exits, and terminations.
  • Maintain and update NCARB HRIS database; ensure HR data on employment, performance management, training, tuition, and benefits are current; prepare various HR reports as needed.
  • Develop and conduct specialized training for staff and managers on system processes and features.
  • Collaborate with the account manager and sr. accountant to ensure status changes are implemented in payroll.
  • Scan and file employee documents accordingly, ensuring all HR files and employee e-files are current and maintained in accordance with NCARB document retention policies.
  • Oversee and maintain employee files; answer employment verification inquiries in accordance with NCARB policy.
  • Maintain content on employee self-service sites; ensure content is fresh and current.

Talent Acquisition Support

  • Support recruitment activities for NCARB/Lineup by coordinating job postings, screening logistics, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
  • Assist HR leadership and hiring managers by preparing interview materials, maintaining applicant tracking data, and ensuring a consistent, organized hiring process.
  • Support onboarding by coordinating pre-hire tasks, preparing new-hire documentation, and assisting with first-day readiness.
  • Provide administrative support for orientation sessions and HRIS training to help ensure a smooth transition for new employees.

Benefits Support and Administration

  • Assist with annual open enrollment period and related annual health and wellness benefit events.
  • Answer employee benefit inquiries and troubleshoot benefit issues when needed.
  • As needed, aid in enrollment and administration of benefit changes with carriers to include new hires, job and salary changes, employee exits/terminations, and personal information changes; and review/reconcile monthly benefit statements.

Administrative

  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources as needed.
  • Support department in core HR functions such as Labor Law Compliance and Employee/Employer relations.
  • Conduct ongoing research to keep department abreast of changes and best practices in the field of human resources.

  • Associates degree plus one - two years of experience in a related field, or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, the ability to work well with others, prioritize, and take initiative.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) required.
