Job Description
Outdoor Living Field Supervisor / Project Manager
About Our Client
Our client is a well-established leader in outdoor living construction, serving Hilton Head, Bluffton, Savannah, and the surrounding Lowcountry. They specialize in custom paver installations, pool decks, patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, pergolas, and other luxury outdoor living spaces. Their reputation has been built on exceptional craftsmanship, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to delivering beautiful projects on time and on budget.
As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a hands-on leader who enjoys being in the field, managing people, solving problems, and keeping multiple projects moving efficiently.
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Outdoor Living Field Supervisor / Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of multiple residential outdoor living projects. This is not a traditional commercial construction project management role. Success in this position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced residential construction environment where projects turn over quickly, crews rotate between jobs, and every day brings new priorities.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading field crews, coordinating subcontractors, communicating with homeowners, managing logistics, and ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the company's high standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple active residential outdoor living projects from start to finish.
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors while ensuring quality workmanship and productivity.
- Coordinate daily schedules, manpower, equipment, trailers, tools, and materials across multiple job sites.
- Serve as the primary field contact for homeowners, providing exceptional communication throughout each project.
- Conduct routine job site visits to monitor quality, safety, progress, and customer satisfaction.
- Solve field issues quickly to minimize delays and keep projects on schedule.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, change orders, and documentation.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and project closeout activities as needed.
- Maintain organization of the yard, fleet, equipment, and jobsite logistics to support efficient operations.
- Collaborate closely with ownership and office staff to ensure projects remain on schedule and profitable.
- Foster a positive, accountable culture while developing strong relationships with employees, subcontractors, and clients.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience managing residential construction projects, crews, or field operations.
- Experience supervising multiple projects with quick turnaround times rather than long-term commercial builds.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate crews while holding team members accountable.
- Experience managing subcontractors, scheduling, material deliveries, and day-to-day jobsite logistics.
- Comfortable balancing office responsibilities with significant time spent in the field.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with homeowners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of construction estimating, budgeting, permitting, inspections, and quality control.
- Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ideal Backgrounds
We would love to speak with professionals who have experience in:
- Outdoor living construction
- Hardscape or paver installation
- Residential remodeling
- Pool construction
- Deck and patio construction
- Roofing or restoration
- Residential construction supervision
- Landscape construction
- High-volume residential contracting
This Role Is Likely Not the Right Fit If You...
- Have primarily managed large commercial construction projects lasting one to four years.
- Prefer managing a single project rather than balancing multiple active jobs.
- Have limited experience working directly with homeowners.
- Prefer remaining in an office instead of spending time in the field leading crews.
- Have little experience coordinating subcontractors, logistics, and rapidly changing schedules.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $95,000 plus performance incentives
- Company vehicle and tools provided
- 401(k) with company match
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Paid holidays
Why This Opportunity?
If you enjoy leading people, solving problems, and seeing projects come to life from start to finish, this is an opportunity to join a growing company where your leadership will directly impact project success and customer satisfaction.
