The Mobile Night Supervisor provides multi-site operational leadership and supervisory support during evening, overnight, and weekend hours when regular site leadership may not be present. This position is intentionally mobile and is not assigned exclusively to one NHF location. The Mobile Night Supervisor will rotate among assigned Recuperative Care locations, including Pico-Union, Glendale, and Arleta, and may be redirected during a scheduled shift to another location based on staffing, safety, guest needs, incidents, or other operational priorities.

The Mobile Night Supervisor serves as an extension of site and operational leadership, providing visible supervisory presence, supporting frontline employees, monitoring adherence to NHF policies and procedures, responding to escalated situations, and helping ensure safe and consistent operations across locations. This role requires a leader who is highly dependable, comfortable making decisions independently, able to respond effectively to unexpected situations, and willing to travel between NHF locations during evening and overnight hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rotate among Pico-Union, Glendale, Arleta, and other assigned locations according to operational needs.
  • Travel between locations during the work shift when necessary to respond to staffing, safety, guest, or operational concerns.
  • Serve as the primary supervisory resource for frontline employees when regular site leadership is unavailable.
  • Provide employees with direction, coaching, clarification of expectations, and immediate performance feedback.
  • Ensure employees remain actively engaged in their assigned responsibilities throughout their shifts.
  • Reinforce professional conduct, workplace boundaries, attendance, dress code, cell phone, safety, and other NHF expectations.
  • Escalate significant employee relations or performance concerns to site leadership and People & Culture.

Site Operations and Coverage

  • Confirm appropriate staffing and coverage at assigned locations.
  • Respond to callouts, late arrivals, staffing shortages, and other coverage concerns in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify that employees are at their assigned posts and completing required responsibilities.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of assigned locations and document observations.
  • Review shift activities, communication logs, bed checks, incident documentation, and other required operational records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure appropriate shift handoffs and communication between evening, overnight, and morning teams.
  • Identify operational deficiencies and take immediate corrective action within the authority of the position.
  • Communicate unresolved concerns to the appropriate manager or operational leader.

Safety and Incident Response

  • Maintain a visible leadership presence focused on the safety of employees, guests, visitors, and facilities.
  • Respond promptly to workplace incidents, guest escalations, emergencies, security concerns, and other unexpected events.
  • Support staff with de-escalation and appropriate response to challenging guest behaviors.
  • Ensure emergency and safety protocols are followed.
  • Contact emergency services or designated NHF leadership when circumstances require escalation.
  • Ensure incidents are appropriately documented and communicated to leadership.
  • Immediately escalate serious safety concerns, allegations of misconduct, threats, violence, suspected abuse, medical emergencies, or other significant events in accordance with NHF protocols.

Staff Performance and Accountability

  • Observe employee performance and address concerns occurring during assigned shifts.
  • Provide immediate coaching and redirection when employees are not following established procedures or performance expectations.
  • Document performance, attendance, conduct, or policy concerns for review by the employee's regular supervisor and/or People & Culture.
  • Partner with site leadership and People & Culture when formal corrective action may be necessary.
  • Recognize and communicate positive employee performance and examples of strong teamwork.
  • Maintain professional supervisory boundaries and confidentiality.

Quality and Compliance

  • Monitor compliance with NHF policies, procedures, program requirements, and safety expectations.
