This executive role will lead revenue strategy, commercial finance, and revenue operations within a high-growth environment.
You will shape how revenue metrics, profitability, forecasting, pricing, and financial processes support sustainable business growth.
The position combines deep revenue accounting expertise with commercial leadership, strategic deal support, and financial transformation.
You will partner closely with senior sales, customer, finance, and executive leaders to improve deal economics and financial predictability.
As a subject matter expert in revenue recognition, you will provide guidance on complex transactions and maintain strong compliance with ASC 606.
You will also drive process, systems, and organizational improvements that enhance automation, reporting, and operational scalability.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with responsibility for delivering actionable insights to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
Accountabilities
- Lead the commercial finance partnership with Sales, Revenue Operations, Pricing & Packaging, and other commercial leaders on deal structuring, discounting, pricing strategy, and margin optimization.
- Serve as the executive leader for commercial finance and profitability management, providing financial insights, investment analysis, and business cases to support strategic pricing and packaging decisions.
- Establish and execute the strategic direction for revenue metrics, revenue transformation, commercial finance, pricing, and packaging.
- Lead revenue transformation initiatives covering processes, systems, reporting, analytics, organizational design, deal desk operations, and revenue accounting.
- Partner with executive leadership across sales, delivery, enablement, customer success, and finance to improve strategic decision-making, financial visibility, and predictability.
- Lead strategic initiatives related to quoting, contracting, deal approvals, revenue accounting, and business partnership with senior commercial executives.
- Support complex deal negotiations and provide financial and commercial guidance to achieve favorable business outcomes.
- Oversee deal desk operations, financial approvals, margin governance, customer expansion economics, and commercial process efficiency.
- Partner with Pricing & Packaging to ensure commercial activities align with pricing policies, monetization strategies, and broader business frameworks.
- Provide strategic financial leadership for product initiatives, including emerging AI-related metrics, opportunities, risks, and operational considerations.
- Establish strategic direction for revenue recognition methodology and ensure processes remain compliant with ASC 606 requirements.
- Oversee revenue recognition and contract cost accounting processes.
- Partner with Services, Sales Operations, and Finance to ensure statements of work and change orders support profitability, accurate accounting, and effective collections.
- Oversee financial support for delivery and enablement functions, including education services, time tracking, strategic initiatives, monthly accounting, and reconciliations.
- Partner with Customer Success on customer journey metrics, success measures, strategic campaigns, and related financial initiatives.
- Lead the commissions process in partnership with Revenue Operations and Sales, supporting commission plan design, attainment tracking, and alignment with company and deal economics.
- Own commercial finance reporting and executive KPIs, including discount rates, deal margins, annual recurring revenue, and annual contract value economics.
- Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls and commercial processes in partnership with the sales organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position focused on revenue strategy, financial metrics, and transformation.
- Extensive knowledge of Software/SaaS revenue recognition, particularly ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15.
- Public accounting experience is required.
- CPA certification is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial finance or deal desk environments, including pricing, discounting, margin analysis, and deal economics.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Product, and other commercial growth functions.
- Strong experience leading enterprise forecasting, including rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and financial modeling.
- Experience within technology organizations, including on-premises and/or SaaS business models, is preferred.
- Experience working in high-growth organizations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting sales organizations through deal desk operations and business development strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to assess complex deal economics while protecting profitability.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, listening, and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide clear recommendations.

- Gross annual base salary of $229,000 to $297,500 USD.
