A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:

The Vice President, Business Development is responsible for developing new business within targeted/assigned markets and accounts. This specific opportunity will focus on selling integrated consulting solutions encompassing the full spectrum of DEKRA's safety improvement/exposure reduction services across our various consulting practices. It also includes identifying business opportunities for all DEKRA businesses and collaborating with peer sales professionals in those businesses as appropriate. What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
  • Develop and leverage an extensive working knowledge of DEKRA strategic consulting services by shadowing and partnering with DEKRA Strategic Consulting experts.
  • Develop the assigned market segments and DEKRA’s unique selling propositions across stand-alone and integrated solutions.
  • Understand the customer buying cycle to effectively develop appropriate new business strategies.
  • Form cross functional sales pursuit teams and collaborate with service SME’s to develop comprehensive solutions for the customer.
  • While focused on consulting services, the VPBD is also expected to engage with assigned Accounts to discover client needs thus determining the specific areas DEKRA can support their needs considering all North American service divisions/lines.
  • Lead the preparation of quotations/proposals for clients, working in conjunction with SME’s, our proposals team, and company templates.
  • Lead the negotiation and closure of services contracts with support from DEKRA’s Legal and sales/operations management teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive records in Salesforce throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with the Global Sales Service (GSS) and Global Account Managers (GAM’s) when account assignments overlap, as the North American sales representative on assigned accounts.
  • Develop market visibility in assigned segments through active use of social media, association participation, client referral networking, and trade shows/conferences.
  • Support the various demand generation campaigns.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of progressive, professional experience in B2B business services sales, preferably including consulting, safety services, and/or management development solutions.

Physical Considerations:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of client locations.
  • Ability to work in a general office environment.
  • Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone.
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs. (luggage).

Travel Considerations:

Domestic travel required, estimated up to 50%.

What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:

Compensation:

The base pay for this position ranges from $140,000 annually to $175,000 annually. This position is an uncapped commission-eligible position. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
