The Hychem Technical Sales Representative will aggressively execute a sales strategy with the fundamental objective to grow sales volume in the assigned territory. They will work with the Area Sales Manager to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities, manage customer relationships, and execute account sales and service plans to maintain existing business. The Technical Sales Representative will identify customer needs and advocate value-adding solutions utilizing Hychem products and services. Reports to Area Sales Manager, Central US.

The Technical Sales Representative will maintain a home office within one of the following Texas areas: San Antonio, Lubbock, or Abilene.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed area-of-responsibility sales growth targets while increasing volume and market share for Hychem.
  • Deliver measurable value to prospective and current customers through expertise in the application of Hychem products in the industrial wastewater treatment market.
  • Work with the Area Sales Manager and the Hychem team to develop and maintain favorable relationships with customers. Plan and implement Technical Service plans to ensure customer satisfaction for all ongoing accounts.
  • Develop expertise in the operation of and optimization of polymer application in industrial water and wastewater systems and equipment, including clarifiers, centrifuges, and filter presses.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to solve customer process and product problems.
  • Create and present sales and technical materials promoting Hychem products and solutions.
  • Understand the safe handling, use, and storage of Hychem products. Comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations applicable to the customer’s site.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the Company’s products, customers, and proprietary information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree - A scientific discipline or a business degree, and equivalent market experience are required.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five years of successful and progressive industry experience in Sales and Service of related products, including the understanding of de-watering and clarification equipment, i.e., centrifuges, belt presses, and clarifiers. Specific experience and expertise in applying wastewater polymers at meat, grain, and dairy processing plants are a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • A character that is confident, bright, articulate, innovative, highly motivated, and self-starting with a high energy level and a spirit of team effort and cooperation.
  • Strong orientation to customer service and the ability to gain the respect of the end-user.
  • Knowledge and ability to create sales quotations for chemical and equipment packages.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to participate effectively in sales and business planning, and to arrive at sound decisions designed to produce effective results.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience and skills at the intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to travel at least 70% of the time.
