At BioTRUST, we’re on a mission to help people live longer, healthier, more vibrant lives — and our website is how most of them find us. Nearly all of our revenue runs through BioTRUST.com and our landing pages, and today that entire surface sits with one person. We’re rebuilding the function around a different idea: one strong technical operator inside the company, supported by contracted development for the work that genuinely needs engineers. We’re looking for a Technical Ecommerce Manager to be that operator. You know Shopify inside and out, you would rather fix the thing than file a ticket about it, and you can tell a configuration problem from a code problem in minutes. Just as importantly, you’re genuinely curious about the positive impact nutrition and healthy aging can have on people’s lives and you’re excited to help build it. You’ll be the single front door for everything on our site — building pages and funnels, running the request queue, protecting site health, and deciding what is worth sending to developers. It’s hands-on work with real ownership and very little bureaucracy between you and shipping something. Let’s build something great together.
A site relaunch is on the horizon. This role will be central to it. That is the best part of the job and the hardest part of the job, and we would rather you know now than find out in week three. It also shapes who we are looking for: we need someone who has been through a relaunch, replatform or major redesign before — not observing it, doing it. We will ask you to walk us through one.
Shopify admin at expert level — products, variants, metafields, automated collections, markets, navigation, redirects. A subscription platform at configuration level (Recharge preferred): plan setup, swaps, skip and pause logic, dunning and failed-payment flows, the customer portal. Discounts and checkout configuration — including a clear sense of what cannot be changed without a developer, so you do not promise things we cannot do. App stack management — install, configure, audit. Spot when two apps conflict, and spot the ones injecting scripts and slowing the site down.
Google Tag Manager — build and debug tags, triggers and variables. Fluent in preview mode. GA4 — set up events, build a funnel exploration, and recognize when the data itself has broken. Verify Meta pixel and CAPI are firing correctly, and understand deduplication.
Write a spec a developer can build from. Build and run workflows in Notion — databases, views, templates and dashboards for intake, prioritization, release tracking and documentation. Comparable tools count (Asana, Jira, Linear, ClickUp) if you can show a workflow you designed and other people actually used. Manage a development partner — review estimates, track hours against a retainer, enforce response times. Own a QA checklist, and hold a release when it fails. Coordinate across Growth, Customer Service, Brand and Product team members.
3+ years running a Shopify store day to day in a direct-to-consumer business. Shopify Plus preferred.
Supplements, health or wellness category experience. A CRO or experimentation background. SQL, or comfort reconciling numbers across systems that disagree. Experience working alongside an automated build or deployment pipeline.
Not a software engineering role. You will not build applications or work on infrastructure. Not a design role. You will implement and improve, not art-direct. Not a marketing strategy role. You will partner closely with Growth, who set the offers and the angles. Not a management role. No direct reports today. You will manage a vendor, not people.
