Tax manager - not-for-profit tax & advisory

What's the role?

Not-for-Profit Tax Managers are a key part of the business tax team responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring tax compliance and advisory services are delivered to nonprofit organizations within expected timelines. This includes:

• Preparing and reviewing Form 990 filings and related compliance documents.
• Advising nonprofit organizations on tax-exempt compliance requirements and best practices.
• Assisting organizations with maintaining and preserving tax-exempt status.
• Consulting on governance, compliance, and strategic tax-related matters affecting nonprofit entities.
• Building new and strengthening existing client relationships while demonstrating knowledge of nonprofit operations and regulations.
• Communicating and meeting with clients as requested; providing recommendations to assist clients with financial and tax needs.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• 5+ years in a similar role within a public accounting firm.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting highly desired or equivalent work experience.
• Experience serving nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Form 990s.
• CPA certification highly desired or ability to attain.

What will my schedule look like?

At MBE, you'll enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines during tax season with up to 50-60 hours weeks and the remainder of the year work 30-40 hour weeks flexing the typical Monday-Friday 8a-5p schedule around any personal passions or family time. We also welcome part time and seasonal team members!
