Software systems engineer

Responsibilities

Cardinal Technology Systems Corp. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Software Systems Engineer to work for our company.

Summary

Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)

Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, and applications implications.

Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.

Assists in the planning and conversion for new hardware/software products.

Maintains currency, debugs and configures related software products.

Provides operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning and hardware upgrades.

Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.

Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.

Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, setting standards and improving overall efficiency of the operating system.

Prepares product documentation.

Interfaces with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology).

Preferences

Experience providing specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines is preferred.

Experience performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products is preferred.

Experience supporting complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support is preferred.

Experience assisting with planning and conversion for new hardware and software products is preferred.

Experience maintaining, debugging, and configuring software products is preferred.

Experience supporting operating systems planning and evaluation, including performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades, is preferred.

Experience working from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications is preferred.

Experience assisting with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs is preferred.

Experience coordinating with system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve operating system efficiency is preferred.

Experience preparing product documentation is preferred.

Experience interfacing with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems is preferred.
