Job Description

The Role

Apryse builds document SDKs and APIs used by developers to add viewing, editing, generation, conversion, and AI-powered data extraction directly to their applications.

The way developers discover and evaluate technology is changing. Traditional search remains critical, but discovery now also happens through AI search, large language models, coding assistants, technical communities, and other third-party sources. Apryse must understand where we appear across these channels, why competitors may outrank or outperform us, and what we need to do to improve.

As an SEO Specialist, you will analyze Apryse’s organic search presence and broader developer-discovery footprint, identify the gaps that matter most, and translate your findings into prioritized actions. You will combine traditional SEO analysis with emerging answer engine optimization practices to help Apryse earn greater visibility across search engines and AI-generated answers.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys moving from research to recommendations to measurable results. You will work closely with the SEO Manager, AEO Program Manager, Content Writers, web team, and other marketing partners to turn data into content and website improvements that drive qualified traffic, conversions, and pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Organic Search Performance
  • Monitor and analyze Apryse’s organic search performance across products, use cases, industries, and priority developer queries.
  • Identify changes in rankings, impressions, click-through rates, organic traffic, conversion, and competitive visibility.
  • Conduct keyword, query, content-gap, and search-intent research to identify new opportunities and areas of underperformance.
  • Assess existing content to determine where pages should be created, updated, consolidated, repositioned, or retired.
  • Build recurring reports that explain performance, identify causes, and recommend next actions.
  • Connect search performance to downstream outcomes, including conversions, MQLs, SAOs, pipeline, and bookings.
  • Conduct Competitive and Market Research
  • Analyze how competitors appear across traditional search, AI-generated answers, coding assistants, and developer-focused discovery channels.
  • Evaluate competitor content strategies, topic coverage, rankings, citations, backlinks, page structures, and organic footprint.
  • Identify the content, technical, authority, and positioning factors influencing Apryse’s visibility.
  • Monitor changes in search behaviour, competitor activity, algorithms, and developer-discovery patterns.
  • Translate research into clear opportunities for Apryse to strengthen its coverage, authority, and differentiation.
  • Turn Insights Into Action
  • Convert research findings into a prioritized, actionable backlog for the Developer Experience Pod and broader Marketing team.
  • Develop SEO briefs that define the target audience, search intent, primary queries, content gaps, competitive considerations, and recommended page structure.
  • Clearly distinguish between quick wins, foundational improvements, and longer-term opportunities.
  • Partner with Developer Writers and other content creators to ensure deliverables address the identified search and discoverability gaps.
  • Review completed content and web updates to confirm that recommendations have been implemented effectively.
  • Track the impact of completed work and use the results to refine future priorities.
  • Support AI and Answer Engine Visibility
  • Monitor how AI search platforms and large language models surface, describe, cite, or omit Apryse.
  • Identify priority questions and prompts where Apryse should be included but is absent, inaccurately represented, or positioned behind competitors.
  • Analyze the sources, content patterns, and third-party signals associated with stronger visibility in AI-generated answers.
  • Partner with the AEO Program Manager to turn findings into content, technical, and off-site recommendations.
  • Track AI share of voice, mention rate, citation rate, average position, and positioning accuracy across priority topics.
  • Help the organization build a repeatable understanding of how traditional SEO and answer engine optimization work together.
  • Support On-Page and Technical SEO
  • Conduct on-page reviews covering titles, headings, internal linking, metadata, schema, content structure, indexability, and search intent.
  • Identify technical SEO issues that may limit crawling, indexing, page performance, or organic visibility.
  • Partner with web and development teams to document issues, recommend solutions, and validate completed changes.
  • Support internal-linking and site-architecture improvements that help users and search engines understand the relationships between Apryse products, capabilities, documentation, and supporting content.
  • Maintain SEO standards and guidance for content creators and website stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in SEO, organic growth, content strategy, or a closely related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of keyword research, competitive analysis, content optimization, on-page SEO, internal linking, and technical SEO fundamentals.
  • Experience using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret search and website data, identify meaningful patterns, and recommend specific actions.
  • Experience producing clear, actionable SEO briefs and recommendations for writers, marketers, designers, and web teams.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with how AI search platforms and large language models discover, synthesize, and cite online information—or a strong interest in developing that expertise quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple research, reporting, and optimization priorities.
  • A results-oriented mindset with an interest in connecting organic performance to conversions, pipeline, and revenue.

Skills & Mindset

  • You are naturally curious and want to understand why something is happening—not simply report that it happened.
  • You can turn a large amount of search, content, and competitive data into a focused set of priorities.
  • You distinguish between activity metrics and business impact and care about both visibility and conversion.
  • You can communicate recommendations clearly enough that another team can act on them without additional interpretation.
  • You are comfortable working in an evolving discipline where the established SEO playbook is expanding to include AI search and answer engines.
  • You balance attention to detail with the judgment to focus on the opportunities most likely to produce meaningful results.
  • You are collaborative, self-directed, and comfortable working across content, web, product marketing, and technical teams.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working for an SDK, API, developer-tools, infrastructure, or technical B2B software company.
  • Experience optimizing technical or developer-facing content, including documentation, tutorials, integration guides, and code-led articles.
  • Familiarity with answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization, AI visibility platforms, or LLM evaluation methods.
  • Experience with structured data, JavaScript SEO, international SEO, website migrations, or large content inventories.
  • Familiarity with document-processing technologies, developer documentation, or software development workflows.
  • Experience connecting SEO performance to lead generation, pipeline, and revenue reporting.

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Growth in organic visibility, qualified website traffic, and web conversion.
  • Increased share of voice across priority search queries and developer topics.
  • Improved mention rate, citation rate, average position, and positioning accuracy within AI-generated answers.
  • Consistent identification and prioritization of actionable search and content opportunities.
  • Successful execution of recommendations across the Developer Experience Pod and broader Marketing team.
  • Contribution to MQLs, SAOs, pipeline, and bookings from organic and AI-assisted discovery.
  • Clear reporting that helps stakeholders understand performance, risks, opportunities, and required decisions.
