This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director Corporate Strategy based in United States. As Senior Director, Corporate Strategy, you will lead some of the organization’s most important and complex strategic priorities, helping shape where the business grows and how resources are deployed. You will tackle ambiguous executive-level questions and turn them into rigorous analysis, strategic options, and actionable recommendations. The role spans market attractiveness, competitive dynamics, growth opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions, and capability development. You will work closely with senior executives and cross-functional leaders, influencing decisions that can have significant enterprise-wide impact. Success will require a combination of strategic judgment, financial rigor, commercial insight, and exceptional communication. You will also help transform strategic recommendations into measurable outcomes rather than stopping at analysis or presentation. This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, growth, and execution in a high-impact environment.
Accountabilities
- Own complex and ambiguous strategic questions from end to end, translating executive priorities into hypotheses, rigorous analysis, strategic alternatives, clear recommendations, and actionable implementation plans.
- Lead high-visibility, cross-functional strategic initiatives with material business impact, including initiatives that may influence external stakeholders and shareholders.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives, applying structured thinking to difficult problems and challenging assumptions when supported by data and analysis.
- Take on different leadership roles depending on the needs of the initiative, including governance lead, initiative owner, strategic advisor, or subject matter expert.
- Identify opportunities to build, buy, or partner for new capabilities, and support growth and value-creation strategies such as new business launches, market entry, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, scenario planning, financial analysis, and business-case development to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop scalable strategic models, systems, and processes that improve the organization’s ability to evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions over time.
- Lead through influence by establishing clear strategic direction, collaborating closely with teams, and mentoring other leaders when appropriate.
- Drive recommendations through executive decision-making and into implementation, maintaining accountability for measurable business outcomes.
- Distill complex strategic issues into concise, credible narratives that clearly communicate the recommended action, supporting evidence, alternatives, risks, and consequences of inaction.
- Build alignment across senior and cross-functional stakeholders, navigating disagreement, competing priorities, and organizational complexity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, private equity, or a related field, preferably within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated success independently owning complex, ambiguous strategic problems and developing enterprise-level recommendations for senior leadership rather than simply conducting analysis or managing individual projects.
- Proven experience guiding multi-team, technology-centric initiatives from strategic planning through implementation.
- Experience identifying and executing growth and value-creation opportunities, including new business launches, market entry, strategic partnerships, or M&A.
- Strong financial analysis capabilities, combined with the ability to conduct deep market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Exceptional strategic judgment and the ability to make sound recommendations when information is incomplete or problems are not clearly defined.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across functions.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Experience working effectively in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments with multiple competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Early-career experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is a plus.
- Corporate strategy experience within a high-growth technology, marketplace, or platform business is a plus.
- Background in investment banking and/or venture capital leading into a corporate strategy leadership role is a plus.
