Shutterfly is looking for a Senior Director, Business Development to join their team!

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Business Development is responsible for creating and executing the growth strategy for Shutterfly's White Label Consumer Products business. This role will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, negotiating, and expanding strategic partnerships that leverage Shutterfly's manufacturing, fulfillment, personalization technology, and product portfolio. This leader will focus on acquiring and growing relationships with consumer brands, retailers, eCommerce platforms, marketplaces, loyalty and rewards programs, creator ecosystems, subscription services, and digital platforms seeking to offer personalized products under their own brand.

The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial business leader with deep expertise in strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, ecosystem development, and white-label consumer product solutions. This individual will play a critical role in establishing new revenue streams, expanding market reach, and positioning Shutterfly as the preferred manufacturing and fulfillment partner for personalized consumer products.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Revenue Growth

• Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy for Shutterfly's White Label Consumer Products business aligned with enterprise objectives.
• Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic partnership opportunities that drive revenue and manufacturing volume growth.
• Identify, pursue, and acquire high-value partners capable of generating meaningful revenue across multiple channels and verticals.
• Lead business development efforts from prospecting through contract execution and launch.
• Achieve aggressive revenue, profit, and growth targets while expanding market share.
• Develop scalable partnership frameworks and commercial models that maximize long-term value creation.

Strategic Partnership Development

• Cultivate relationships with: Retailers, eCommerce platforms, Creator marketplaces, Loyalty and rewards providers, Corporate gifting organizations, Subscription businesses, Sports and entertainment properties, Lifestyle, home décor, and consumer brands, Marketplace and platform operators.
• Develop innovative white-label and co-branded partnership solutions leveraging Shutterfly's manufacturing and fulfillment capabilities.
• Structure mutually beneficial commercial agreements that align partner objectives with business goals.
• Collaborate with partners to develop joint business plans and go-to-market strategies.

Market Expansion & Ecosystem Development

• Evaluate emerging consumer, personalization, retail, and eCommerce trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Assess competitive market dynamics and recommend new channels, product categories, and partnership models.
• Build business cases supporting new market opportunities and investment decisions.
• Expand Shutterfly's presence within strategic marketplaces, digital ecosystems, and consumer engagement platforms.
• Help define and evolve the long-term strategic direction of Shutterfly's Manufacturing-as-a-Service capabilities.

Cross-functional Leadership

• Partner closely with Product Management, Operations, Technology, Customer Success, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Supply Chain, and Integration teams to ensure successful partner onboarding and execution.
• Champion partner needs internally while ensuring operational scalability and financial performance.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives supporting launch readiness, partner growth, and long-term business success.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency and partner experiences.

Executive Relationship Management

• Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders across partner organizations.
• Serve as a strategic advisor and primary escalation point for key accounts.
• Present business opportunities, market insights, and performance results to senior leadership.
• Influence decision-making internally and externally to accelerate growth and strengthen partnerships.
• Represent Shutterfly at industry events, conferences, and strategic customer engagements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Operations, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, or channel leadership roles.
• Proven success building and scaling partnerships that generated multi-million-dollar revenue streams.
• Demonstrated experience selling, supporting, or developing: Personalized consumer products, Print-on-demand solutions, White-label manufacturing services, Consumer products eCommerce services, Marketplace partnerships, Platform-based business models.
• Track record of creating new revenue streams, entering new markets, and delivering sustained growth.
• Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in one or more of the following: Photo products, Personalized gifting, Print-on-demand platforms, Home décor, Shopify ecosystem, Amazon marketplace, Retail and omnichannel distribution, Brand licensing, Consumer subscription businesses, Creator economy platforms, Loyalty and rewards programs, Consumer technology platforms.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 30% travel required for customer meetings, industry events, partner engagements, and internal leadership meetings.

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

• Connecticut and New York: [$180,250-233,250]
• Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington: [$180,250-216,000]
• Nevada: [$169,250-233,250]
• Maryland and New Jersey: [$194,500-233,250]
• Hawaii : [$169,250-203,000]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business.
