JOB DESCRIPTION

Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Tempe & Mesa, AZ | Flexible Schedule | Local Team Support | Performance Bonuses

GREAT TUTORS DESERVE GREAT SUPPORT

Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee is hiring SAT tutors and ACT tutors for in-home and online test prep tutoring across the East Valley. If you're searching for SAT tutor jobs near me, ACT tutor jobs, or test prep tutoring jobs, this is a role where you can make a meaningful difference in students' lives without managing the business side of tutoring.

Our mission is simple: to help prepare today's youth to become tomorrow's successful adults.

TUTOR PAY & COMPENSATION

• $20–$35 per hour base pay
• Up to $40 per hour for select students and specialized assignments
• Performance bonuses tied to student satisfaction, reliability, and other performance criteria
• Semi-monthly pay, flexible scheduling, and the ability to select students around your availability

YOU SUPPORT STUDENTS. WE SUPPORT YOU.

Unlike online-only tutoring platforms and app-based gig tutoring jobs, Tutor Doctor tutors are backed by a dedicated local team — not an algorithm. We personally get to know every tutor and thoughtfully match you to students based on subject expertise, teaching style, student goals, and preferred travel area and availability.

We handle client acquisition, billing, family communication, scheduling coordination, and administrative logistics so you can focus on what you do best: helping students prepare, improve their scores, and build confidence.

You'll also receive:

• Ongoing support from a local team that knows you personally — not a call center
• Detailed student notes, assessments, and instructional resources
• Professional autonomy without micromanagement
• The ability to build meaningful, long-term 1:1 relationships with students, rather than one-off “drop-in” sessions
• Test Prep course with thousands of practice problems ranging from Easy to Hard, and practice tests

SAT/ACT TUTOR QUALIFICATIONS

• Current college enrollment or a completed college degree
• Strong command of SAT and/or ACT content areas (math, reading, writing, science reasoning)
• Background as a teacher, education professional, or test prep specialist
• High personal scores on AP exams, SAT or ACT
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and pacing needs
• Reliability, professionalism, and consistent follow-through
• Reliable transportation for in-home tutoring assignments
• Understanding of testing and pacing strategies

TUTORING JOB LOCATIONS — EAST VALLEY, ARIZONA

Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee/South Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, and other East Valley communities. Both in-home and online/virtual tutoring available. Tutors set their own preferred cities, travel radius, subjects, and availability.

WHY TUTOR DOCTOR IS DIFFERENT

If you've tutored for Varsity Tutors, Wyzant, or other online-only test prep platforms, or worked for a learning center like Mathnasium or Sylvan, here's what sets us apart:

• A real local team, not an app. We personally match you and stay involved — you always have a local contact, not a support ticket.
• True 1:1 test prep, not a center-based model. Fully personalized instruction built around each student's actual score goals and weak areas, not a standardized group curriculum.
• Consistent, long-term student relationships instead of rotating anonymous sessions.
• You set your own schedule and travel radius — no fixed shifts at a physical center.
