This role leads a regional technical service team supporting customers across fleet wash, surface treatment, and industrial food and beverage applications.
You will oversee technical service representatives and technicians while ensuring customers receive high-quality, value-driven solutions.
The position combines people leadership, technical problem-solving, customer relationship management, commercial support, and operational discipline.
You will help customers reduce total operating costs, improve processes, and maximize the value of specialized product portfolios.
The role also contributes directly to customer retention, market growth, competitive intelligence, and expansion opportunities.
You will work closely with sales leaders and cross-functional teams while managing service activities and expenses within budget.

Accountabilities:
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop technical service representatives and service technicians across the assigned region, creating a high-performing team focused on customer satisfaction and business results.
- Provide technical service and application support at customer sites, helping resolve technical challenges, improve processes, and deliver solutions that strengthen customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term value.
- Develop and implement regional service plans aligned with customer requirements, commercial objectives, market opportunities, and strategies for expanding market share.
- Manage service-related expenses and financial activities, ensuring regional operations remain within established budget requirements while maintaining effective customer support.
- Establish clear performance objectives for team members, conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues effectively.
- Strengthen the technical and commercial capabilities of service representatives by identifying development needs, implementing training programs, and supporting selling activities, negotiations, service requirements, and business expansion opportunities.
- Partner closely with sales managers and cross-functional support teams to coordinate resources, address customer needs, support strategic accounts, and align technical service activities with commercial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers, sales leaders, and internal stakeholders throughout the assigned geography.
- Provide market intelligence by monitoring competitive activity, customer needs, industry developments, and emerging market trends.
- Support service teams working with multiple customers and diverse product lines, ensuring consistent execution and effective prioritization across the region.
- Lead the team in accurately reporting, documenting, and communicating technical findings, abnormal conditions, recommendations, and customer opportunities.
- Apply strong technical and mechanical aptitude to help service representatives resolve complex customer challenges and identify opportunities for operational and process improvements.
- Support the effective use of technical tools, including eTools, system surveys, and cost calculators, to improve customer analysis and service outcomes.
- Travel regularly to assigned customer locations and work directly with service representatives and technicians to understand requirements, resolve issues, and strengthen customer relationships.
- Hire and develop team members as needed, fostering a culture centered on continuous improvement, safety, customer focus, innovation, integrity, and ethical behavior.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical service or technical service management within a chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or comparable technical environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and detailed knowledge of technical applications across diverse product portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and motivate technical service teams while maintaining a strong customer-service orientation.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple customer and team priorities.
- Strategic and critical-thinking abilities, with a practical, solution-oriented approach to technical and operational challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to manage expenses, budgets, and financial considerations associated with regional service activities.
- Experience identifying training needs and developing technical and professional capabilities within service teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers, technicians, sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to establish positive, productive relationships with current and prospective customers and sales managers.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding team objectives and delivering measurable service and business results.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and engage corporate resources to support regional customer and business needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel, to customer locations and other business activities.
