Regional business director –west region (ogsiveo)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Business Director – West Region (OGSIVEO) based in United States.

This field-based leadership role will oversee commercial performance and a team of Territory Business Managers across the West Region. You will own regional sales strategy, execution, resource allocation, and team development while building strong relationships across the rare disease healthcare ecosystem. Working closely with Commercial Operations, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Patient Services, Human Resources, and senior leadership, you will translate business priorities into effective regional action. You will coach and develop high-performing teams while maintaining strong customer and partner relationships. The role combines strategic planning, people leadership, customer engagement, and deep knowledge of rare disease and sarcoma markets. It is suited to an experienced pharmaceutical leader who thrives in a dynamic, highly competitive environment and is motivated by improving outcomes for patients with rare diseases.

Accountabilities:

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Territory Business Managers, including hiring, retention, performance management, recognition, succession planning, and professional development.
• Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular field coaching sessions to strengthen selling capabilities and maximize individual team member potential.
• Develop and execute regional sales and account strategies aligned with brand priorities and unique market needs.
• Analyze regional business performance and create short- and long-term plans to achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets.
• Allocate and manage regional and district budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation and return on investment.
• Develop strategies that increase product access and support commercial objectives in partnership with Market Access and other stakeholders.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with physicians, healthcare practices, hospitals, clinics, patient advocacy organizations, and local opinion leaders.
• Maintain a strong understanding of regional customer needs and ensure effective account planning and engagement.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Regional Marketing, Commercial Operations, Patient Access, Human Resources, Medical, Legal, Compliance, and senior leadership to deliver shared objectives.
• Partner effectively with alliance partners to maximize coordinated commercial efforts and regional impact.
• Communicate competitive intelligence, market trends, customer insights, and business opportunities to brand teams and senior management.
• Monitor regional and national sales trends, competitor activity, market dynamics, and changes affecting the rare disease and sarcoma landscape.
• Ensure field activities and promotional programs are aligned with strategic priorities and applicable policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Support sales meetings, training programs, medical conventions, and other business activities as required.
• Coordinate with Field Enablement and Business Operations to maintain strong product knowledge and selling capabilities across the team.
• Act as a regional ambassador, bringing market insights to the broader organization and supporting a unified approach to customer needs.
• Drive execution of strategic business plans and contribute to long-term organizational goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or another advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years within Rare Disease or Sarcoma.
• 3+ years of direct people leadership experience in a management role.
• Demonstrated success working across multiple headquarters functions, such as Marketing and Managed Markets.
• Previous experience launching products or services in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
• Strong scientific and business orientation with a solid understanding of the Rare Disease therapeutic landscape, market trends, competitors, and healthcare dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry procedures, regulations, and compliant selling practices.
• Demonstrated business acumen in Rare Disease selling, customer account management, and regional commercial strategy.
• Proven ability to build, motivate, coach, and lead diverse high-performing teams in competitive environments.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, decision-making ability, and ownership mindset.
• Ability to develop effective business plans and quickly translate organizational objectives into actionable priorities and resource allocation.
• Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to lead teams and manage change in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with peers, senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners.

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record that meets applicable standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 50% or more of the time.
• Ability to reside within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory.

Benefits:

• Expected salary range of $220,000–$255,000 USD annually.
