Job Description

Keelson Strategic is seeking a Recruiter I/II to join our growing team and support recruiting efforts across the organization. This role will work closely with the Senior Recruiter, HR team, and hiring managers to identify, attract, evaluate, and hire high-quality candidates for a variety of security and corporate positions.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. This individual should enjoy building relationships, communicating with candidates, and finding creative ways to reach qualified talent.

The Recruiter I/II will support the full recruiting lifecycle, including sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding. The role will also assist with recruiting events, referral partnerships, reporting, and other talent acquisition initiatives as needed.

Recruiting Responsibilities

• Candidate Sourcing: Identify and engage qualified candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, professional networks, employee referrals, industry groups, security schools and training programs, military transition programs, and other creative sourcing channels.
• Full-Cycle Recruiting: Support candidates throughout the recruiting process, from initial outreach and screening through interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.
• Candidate Screening: Review applications and resumes to assess experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with position requirements. Conduct initial recruiter screens and provide clear candidate recommendations to the hiring team.
• Interview Coordination: Coordinate interviews between candidates, HR, hiring managers, and other stakeholders while maintaining timely communication throughout the process.
• Job Postings: Create, publish, and maintain job postings across the company ATS, LinkedIn, job boards, professional groups, and other recruiting platforms.
• Candidate Experience: Serve as an ambassador for Keelson Strategic and provide candidates with frequent, professional, and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
• Candidate Engagement: Educate candidates on Keelson's culture, career opportunities, compensation, benefits, and potential for professional growth.
• Hiring Manager Support: Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements, provide pipeline updates, gather interview feedback, and help move qualified candidates efficiently through the hiring process.
• Talent Pipeline Development: Build and maintain pipelines of qualified candidates for current and anticipated hiring needs.
• Networking & Partnerships: Develop relationships with industry professionals, referral partners, military transition programs, security and executive protection training schools, and other organizations that expand Keelson's candidate network.
• Recruiting Events: Represent Keelson Strategic at career fairs, recruiting events, military transition events, industry conferences, and other talent acquisition initiatives. Occasional domestic travel is required.
• Recruiting Operations: Maintain accurate candidate records and hiring activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruiting systems.
• Reporting: Assist with tracking recruiting activity, pipeline metrics, hiring progress, and sourcing effectiveness.
• Compliance: Support recruiting practices that comply with applicable federal and state employment laws and company policies.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve sourcing strategies, candidate experience, recruiting processes, and overall hiring efficiency.
• Perform additional recruiting and HR-related duties as assigned.

Offer & Onboarding Responsibilities

• Assist with extending verbal and written offers to selected candidates.
• Coordinate required pre-employment steps, including background investigations, drug screenings, reference checks, and professional or security license verification, as applicable.
• Monitor candidates through the pre-employment process and communicate outstanding requirements or potential issues to HR and recruiting leadership.
• Coordinate with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to new hire.
• Assist with new-hire onboarding, system setup, orientation scheduling, and required employment documentation.
• Maintain consistent communication with candidates between offer acceptance and start date to support engagement and reduce candidate fallout.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, HR, or closely related experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience sourcing candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open positions, candidates, interviews, and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships quickly.
• Comfortable conducting candidate interviews and evaluating experience against position requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate candidate and hiring records.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with recruiting, HR, and hiring teams.
• Creative and persistent approach to candidate sourcing and talent pipeline development.
• Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) preferred.
• Experience with Breezy HR and/or Paychex is a plus.
• Experience recruiting for security, executive protection, military/veteran, law enforcement, or other specialized talent is a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and recruiting best practices preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel domestically on an occasional basis for recruiting events and industry partnerships.
