Position: Production Support Engineer

Locations: Reston, VA or Washington, DC (once a month onsite)

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Interview Process: 2 rounds (Phone Screen + In-Person Interview)

Shift: Night Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Position Overview

We are looking for a strong Production Support Engineer with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Web Services to support production applications and troubleshoot critical issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development fundamentals along with experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. Experience with Big Data platforms is a plus. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a night-shift assignment. The selected candidate will initially complete training and knowledge transfer during the day before transitioning to the regular night shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for enterprise applications and services.
• Monitor production applications and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.
• Analyze application errors, logs, and system behavior to determine root causes.
• Support Java-based applications and troubleshoot issues across application components.
• Work with Spring Boot applications and RESTful Web Services.
• Investigate production incidents and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other technical teams to resolve production issues.
• Perform incident analysis, root-cause analysis, and follow established production support procedures.
• Participate in knowledge-transfer and application-support activities.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures.
• Support scheduled weekend rotations, approximately once per month.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java – MUST HAVE
• Strong experience with Spring Boot – MUST HAVE
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs / Web Services – MUST HAVE
• Production support experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience analyzing application logs and resolving production incidents.
• Ability to work independently during overnight production support shifts.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
