SMBHD (www.smbhd.com) is a boutique Salesforce consulting firm built for small and mid-market businesses. We work in small, focused delivery pods — and we're looking for engineers who thrive with broad ownership, direct client contact, and the autonomy to shape a solution from first conversation to go-live.
If you've been looking for a role where the distance between understanding a problem and solving it is as short as possible, this is it.
Process Forward Salesforce Engineers are the core of how we deliver. You work inside a pod of 3–4 engineers running 2–4 client engagements at a time — sometimes as the sole technical lead on a project, sometimes alongside pod teammates on a larger one. The model is intentionally lean. There's no separate analyst to gather requirements, no separate trainer to run enablement, no separate developer to build what you've scoped.
You do all of it. Not because we're cutting corners, but because the best solutions come from people who stay connected to the problem from discovery through deployment. You shape the requirements because you understand what's buildable. You build the solution because you understand what the client actually needs. You run the training because you built the thing and know it better than anyone.
This is the role for someone who finds handoffs frustrating and broad ownership energizing.
You have deep Salesforce chops — Apex, Flow, LWC, declarative config, integrations — and you've delivered enough full implementations to know where things usually go wrong. You're comfortable in front of a VP explaining the solution and comfortable in a code editor building it the same afternoon.
You've probably felt the friction of roles that keep you too far from one end or the other. Maybe you're a developer who wishes they had more say in shaping the problem. Maybe you're a consultant who wants to get closer to the build. Either way, you've been looking for a model where that gap doesn't exist.
You're not intimidated by AI — you're already experimenting with it, thinking about how it changes what's possible on the platform, and looking for a place that takes that seriously.
