The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are seeking a National Retail Sales Manager to develop and execute strategic sales initiatives that drive sustainable, profitable growth across national and regional retail accounts. This position will lead corporate-level customer relationships, private-label business development, and Request for Proposal (RFP) initiatives while identifying opportunities to expand Neil Jones Food Company’s presence across retail channels. This position is remote.
The ideal candidate is a highly relationship-driven sales leader with a strong understanding of retail buying processes, private-label programs, category management, customer development, and strategic account management. The successful candidate will possess the ability to build trusted relationships with key decision-makers while effectively collaborating across internal functions to deliver customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans designed to achieve sales, volume, profitability, and market-share objectives.
- Manage and strengthen corporate-level relationships with retail buying, merchandising, sourcing, category management, and private-label teams.
- Establish and maintain executive-level customer relationships that support long-term business growth and strategic partnerships.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within existing and prospective retail accounts.
- Monitor account performance and develop action plans to address opportunities, challenges, and changing customer requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of retail buying processes, category management, private-label business models, and retail customer requirements.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales and business-development plans.
- Strong analytical, financial, forecasting, and business-planning capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

- Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives and customer priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated business judgment and ability to balance customer needs with company profitability and operational capabilities.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, fresh produce, or private-label industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with retailers at the corporate or headquarters level.
- Proven success managing national or regional retail accounts and developing strategic customer relationships.
- Demonstrated experience with private-label programs, RFP processes, business development, and contract negotiations.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders within large retail organizations.
