Implementation specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Migration Operations Specialist to join a high-impact team supporting Symetra's Dearborn-to-Symetra migration initiative. This team serves as the organization's "Solution Squad," responsible for identifying, researching, resolving, and preventing operational issues that arise as customer groups transition from legacy systems to new platforms.

This assignment is expected to last approximately 6 to 9 months and will involve partnering across multiple operational areas to ensure a successful customer transition. During critical migration milestones and migration weeks, additional hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Following completion of the migration, there may be opportunities for select team members to transition into permanent implementation roles supporting ongoing new-business onboarding, based on business needs and individual performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support all phases of the Dearborn-to-Symetra migration process.
• Research, investigate, resolve, and escalate implementation and migration-related issues.
• Identify and correct migration fallout, data discrepancies, system errors, and operational exceptions.
• Review, update, and validate contracts and plan documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform detailed data review, validation, and manual updates as needed.
• Ensure customer-facing information, including contracts, billing records, and portal data, is accurate prior to release.
• Collaborate with operations teams, implementation partners, engineers, and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Escalate complex issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Manage detailed work assignments while meeting established deadlines and service expectations.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving business requirements, and ongoing process improvements.
• Utilize system tools, job aids, training materials, and documentation to support efficient and accurate work execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual effort through automation and best practices.
• Support migration-week activities, including overtime as needed to ensure successful customer transitions.

• Experience working with PHINIOS and/or Velocity systems.
• Quality assurance, auditing, compliance, or operational review experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
