Job Title: Graphic Design Specialist (Book Production & Author Relations)

Location: Remote

Hours: US Business Hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM EST or PST)

Pay Range: $1,500 – $2,000 / month

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Graphic Design Specialist with hands-on book publishing experience to serve as the primary liaison between our authors and design production. In this role, you will evaluate author-provided artwork against print specifications, perform basic graphic prep work, design promotional assets, and guide authors through the visual publishing journey with exceptional service and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author Communication: Act as the main point of contact for authors during the graphic prep phase, providing high-touch support via email and phone.
  • Print Asset Evaluation: Review author-submitted graphics, illustrations, and headshots to verify they meet strict print quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Production Graphic Editing: Perform core pre-press tasks, including cropping, resizing, retouching headshots, and converting images to grayscale for interior book printing.
  • Publishing & Promotional Design: Review and design publisher imprint files, create engaging Amazon A+ Content modules, and build eye-catching social media graphics for book marketing campaigns.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working directly with book assets (book covers, interior graphics, publisher imprints, and print specs).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) with a strong understanding of print preparation (DPI, CMYK/grayscale conversion, bleed, and trim).
  • Client Relations: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Amazon Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with creating Amazon A+ Content/Enhanced Brand Content and digital promotional assets.
  • Schedule: Must be available to work dedicated US business hours (EST or PST) to collaborate in real time with clients and internal teams.
