The Field Sales Representative, NFG develops and grows business relationships with agencies, agents, advisors, and partner firms within an assigned territory by serving as a knowledgeable resource on NFG Brokerage products, processes, and sales support. This role supports sales growth across annuity, life insurance, long-term care, and disability insurance solutions through proactive outreach, consultative case support, product education, and close partnership with Regional Sales and Relationship Managers.
The role combines internal wholesaling, field-facing relationship support, product analysis, case design guidance, and coordination across internal teams in a regulated life and annuity environment. Success is measured by consistent pipeline activity, advisor and agency engagement, product and process education, relationship development, and contribution to regional sales growth.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Grow and manage a consistent new business pipeline by building relationships with agencies, agents, advisors, and partner firms and expanding engagement across NFG Brokerage product lines.
- Serve as a central point of contact within the assigned territory, providing proactive outreach and responsive support for quote activity, sales opportunities, product education, and case follow-up.
- Provide product analysis, illustration support, case design guidance, underwriting navigation, and competitive positioning across annuity, life insurance, long-term care, and disability insurance solutions.
- Partner with Regional Sales and Relationship Managers on territory planning, strategic account development, advisor engagement, regional events, and follow-through on field opportunities.
- Independently identify, re-engage, and develop dormant agencies, agents, and advisor relationships to increase activity and uncover new sales opportunities.
- Recommend appropriate products, features, and support resources based on account needs, market opportunities, compliance considerations, and business goals.
- Onboard and educate new agents and advisors on NFG Brokerage products, processes, expectations, systems, tools, and available support resources.
- Travel within the assigned region to support agency and advisor meetings, training sessions, field events, carrier-partnered engagements, and joint field work with the Regional Sales and Relationship Manager.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation, pipeline reporting, activity updates, and follow-up records to support coordinated territory management and visibility across internal teams.
- Collaborate with sales teams, case management, new business, contracting, operations, carrier partners, and other internal stakeholders to resolve issues, support case progression, and improve the advisor experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services, insurance distribution, life and annuity products, wholesaling, sales support, or a related field-facing sales environment.
- FINRA Series 6 or 7 and applicable life, health, and annuities licensing required, or ability to obtain and maintain required licensing as determined by business and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of life and annuity products, insurance distribution, product illustration and case design concepts, sales pipeline management, account relationship management, consultative selling, agent onboarding, and compliance/regulatory standards for life and annuity products.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize activity in a fast-paced sales environment, communicate clearly with agencies, agents, advisors, and internal partners, and balance field travel with internal responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, financial services, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with agencies, agents, financial professionals, or broker-dealer/insurance distribution channels preferred.
Other Requirements
- This role is remote and uses virtual meeting tools to connect with field leaders, agents, agencies, advisors, and internal partners.
- Travel may be required up to 25% within the assigned region, including periodic travel to agencies, regional meetings, field events, and conferences.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $67,000- $81,000, plus competitive incentive compensation package. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Compensation ranges may differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
