Job Description

Just Right Reader is a forward-thinking curriculum provider committed to advancing literacy for students from Birth through 12th Grade. Our comprehensive resources are designed to support all learners, including upper-grade students requiring additional intervention to develop foundational skills. Grounded in the Science of Reading, our high-quality materials and tools equip educators with the support they need to accelerate achievement and foster lifelong readers.

Position Overview:

We're supporting our CTO in finding a resourceful and highly self-directed Executive Assistant. This is a full-time remote role for someone who thrives on quietly keeping things in motion - behind the scenes - so the CTO can focus on leading our technical teams and building out our automation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Think of this as being the wizard behind the curtain: you'll manage the administrative world for our CTO with a high degree of autonomy. You'll coordinate closely with other Executive Assistants at JRR to handle business-facing priorities, but your main focus will be on removing things from the CTO's plate.

This means: serving as a gatekeeper and point of contact for a wide range of people - from cross-functional teams to outside vendors; handling logistics, owning the CTO's schedule, managing the CTO's inbox, prepping the CTO for upcoming meetings, understanding how to lean in as a true partner, etc.

Full-time; hours will flex based on the needs of the week rather than a standard 9-to-5.

Expected to be responsive during core working hours with the understanding that after-hours, evening or weekend needs may arise.

90% will be spent on EA tasks, 10% of your time may be spent on PA tasks.

Day-to-day will include coordinating with outside vendors and service providers, managing meetings and commitments, liaising with cross-functional partners, and ensuring logistical and administrative needs are handled seamlessly. The CTO is looking for someone who can work independently with a strong sense of urgency.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being quietly indispensable-steady, responsive, and always a step ahead, ensuring the CTO's world runs as smoothly as possible.

Qualifications:

Autonomous and proactive: you are able to make sound judgments and move things forward with minimal direction.

Discreet and composed: you handle sensitive matters with absolute professionalism.

Proactive and unflappable: you anticipate needs and respond to the unexpected.

Strong communication: you communicate clearly and kindly in representing the CTO to the rest of the org.

Organized and meticulous: you keep things organized, you are incredibly meticulous, and you can prioritize effectively in a shifting landscape.

Why Join Us:

At Just Right Reader, we're transforming how children learn to read. You'll be part of a passionate, growing team committed to educational equity, literacy innovation, and joyful learning.

Mission-driven company focused on improving literacy and education outcomes.

Collaborative and innovative work environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Competitive salary and benefits package.
