The Housing Program Manager position is a designated specialist that is key to bridging the gap between the long-term care service world and state and federal affordable housing resources that seniors and clients with disabilities in WA State depend upon. You'll work within the Housing Team to formulate statewide policy and long-range strategic direction and provide subject matter expertise to contribute a broad understanding of long-term care regulations and principles related to supportive housing, affordable housing, and other supportive services that support stability in the community.
The Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA) under the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is responsible for Washington state's system of long-term services and supports serving people with disabilities and older adults, including home and community-based services, protections from abuse, neglect and exploitation, regulatory oversight of licensed and certified settings and case management services. The new Strategic Grievance and Incidents Operations Office sits within the Home and Community Services (HCS) Office of the Director, and the Grievance Resolution Specialist reports directly to the Senior Access Administrator.
To find success in this role, you'll need to be a Microsoft Excel whiz and possess a solid understanding of database management. You'll have the opportunity to use Power BI as well as Power Automate to create data that will be integral in supporting housing, affordable housing, and other supportive services, creating stability in our communities. You'll be working within groups to translate the project to a non-project audience acting as an intermediary between these groups, so possessing excellent communication skills is important in this role.
This role is currently 100% remote with occasional travel. This is a temporary, non-permanent role scheduled to end June 30, 2028.
