Job Description

DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

At Maximus, we believe the future of work will be defined by how effectively organizations help people adapt, grow, and thrive alongside rapidly evolving technologies. As Director- HR Transformation, Change & Adoption, you will lead enterprise-wide efforts that help employees, leaders, and teams successfully navigate organizational change, workforce transformation, and AI-enabled ways of working. This role goes beyond traditional change management and focuses on building workforce capability, driving adoption, fostering trust in emerging technologies, and creating meaningful employee experiences that accelerate business outcomes.

Working across the enterprise, you will partner with senior executives and business leaders to turn strategic vision into practical, scalable actions that prepare our workforce for the future while delivering measurable impact today.

This role is ideal for a leader who combines expertise in organizational development, learning, workforce transformation, and change leadership with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and human-centered transformation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shape how the organization evolves—translating strategy into workforce behavior, capability, and mindset shifts that enable transformation at scale.
  • Connect change efforts across initiatives—ensuring employees experience one cohesive, aligned transformation rather than competing priorities.
  • Lead a globally distributed team across the U.S. and India, building a culture of ownership, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a catalyst for a more adaptive, future-ready organization—where change is continuous, not episodic.
  • Partner with executive leaders to define the future way of working—not just managing change, but rethinking how work gets done across people, process, and technology.
  • Orchestrate complex transformations (e.g. talent migration, AI, organizational optimization) with a focus on measurable business outcomes, not just activity or deliverables.
  • Anticipate resistance before it surfaces—understanding organizational dynamics and proactively shaping sentiment and engagement.
  • Lead the human side of AI adoption—ensuring employees build trust, capability, and confidence in new technologies and ways of working.
  • Integrate AI into the practice of change management itself—using AI to enhance insights, accelerate content creation, and personalize the change experience.
  • Use data and insights to continuously refine strategies—focusing on adoption, proficiency, and sustained behavior change, not just launch success.
  • Design and deliver compelling employee experiences that influence behavior—moving beyond communications to immersive, learner-centered approaches.
  • Create a culture of experimentation—testing new engagement approaches, iterating based on data, and scaling what works.
  • Bring a strong Learning & Organizational Development lens—embedding capability building, upskilling, and leadership readiness into every transformation effort.
  • Act as a “translator” between strategy and execution—turning high-level vision into clear, actionable pathways for leaders and teams.
  • Build and activate leader-led change—equipping executives and managers to actively sponsor, role model, and reinforce change.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Organizational Development, HR, Communications, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related).
  • 10+ years of progressive change management experience, including leading large, complex, multi-country transformations.
  • Demonstrated people-leadership experience, including managing globally distributed teams (U.S. and India strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience both implementing AI-enabled solutions and using AI tools to accelerate change work (content, analytics, personalization).
  • Background as a Learning & Organizational Development practitioner — designing learning journeys, capability models, or leadership development programs.
  • Recognized change management certification (Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent).
  • Outstanding executive communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
  • * Master's degree in OD, I/O Psychology, HR, or MBA.
  • * Experience in government services, regulated industries, or large-scale HR transformations (e.g., centralization, vendor transitions, AI/automation rollouts).
  • * Familiarity with Agile delivery and human-centered design.
  • * United States based with experience supporting distributed teams.
