Job Description

About the role

We're looking for a talented, detail-oriented Digital Designer to execute on our eCommerce creative initiatives. This role is primarily focused on creating promotional digital assets that drive engagement and conversion across our eCommerce properties and the channels that support them.

You will collaborate closely with our in-house design team to develop modular promotional creative that scales across email, paid media, social, and site placements. The ideal candidate brings strong eCommerce sensibility; balancing elevated visual design with performance-driven thinking and AI-assisted workflows.

This is a hands-on execution role for a designer who understands how cohesive promotional creative drives revenue across multiple digital touchpoints and can bring vendor-provided imagery and reference assets to life through generative AI compositing and art direction.

Note: We're seeking freelancers/independent contractors who ideally work during daytime hours (US timezone preferred), enabling collaboration on calls and real-time feedback sessions with our team. A link to your portfolio showcasing eCommerce and promotional design work is required to apply for this position. Applications without portfolio links will not be considered.

How you'll make an impact

• Execute visual creation of recurring promotional and seasonal themes across eCommerce-driven campaigns in collaboration with the in-house design team
• Create modular promotional components that scale across email, paid media, social, and on-site placements
• Develop high-impact email elements and, when needed, full email creative per brief and guidelines
• Support digital merchandising efforts through compelling promotional assets aligned with team strategy
• Translate approved marketing strategy and creative direction into conversion-focused digital assets
• Execute creative iterations based on performance insights, A/B testing, and campaign results provided by the team
• Create composite generative AI imagery and product shots using vendor-provided source files and art direct them to align with brand style and campaign strategy
• Maintain organized, scalable files and reusable components within Figma and our Digital Asset Management tool

What you'll need to succeed

• 3+ years of experience in digital design, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or performance marketing environments
• Strong portfolio showcasing eCommerce campaigns and promotional digital creative (portfolio required)
• Experience creating assets that scale across multiple digital channels
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
• Strong typography, layout, and image retouching skills
• Experience with generative AI tools for creating composite imagery and photo compositing
• Familiarity with A/B testing, performance metrics, and optimization principles
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent promotional campaigns in a deadline-driven environment
• High attention to detail with strong ownership mindset
• Reliable availability for daytime collaboration and sync with US-based team (calls, feedback sessions, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and ability to take and implement direction efficiently
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work seamlessly with an in-house design team

What would make you stand out

• Experience creating light motion graphics or animated digital assets (particularly valuable for this role)
• Proficiency in generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Runway, etc.) for creating and iterating composite lifestyle photography and product imagery from vendor-provided source files, with strong art direction skills
• Proven expertise in eCommerce and retail creative (strong portfolio demonstrating this highly preferred)
• Proven familiarity designing within CMS-driven eCommerce environments
• Experience working with Growth teams in performance-driven marketing organizations
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to enhance creative efficiency and output
• Experience as a successfully balancing concurrent projects

About this engagement

• Contractor/Freelancer Status: This is a part-time freelance/contractor position (not a full-time employee role)
• Hours & Flexibility: 15-20 hours per week, with the option to scale up to additional hours as projects demand
• Timezone Preference: US-based or overlapping daytime availability preferred to enable real-time collaboration
• Communication: Regular async and sync touchpoints with the in-house design team and Creative Director via teams and email
• Tools: You'll have access to Figma, Wrike (our project management tool), and our DAM platform. You must have your own Adobe Creative Suite and generative AI tools to create composite imagery from vendor-provided source files.
