Job Description

Data Architect

This is a remote position.

Location: Remote (U.S.)

About the Role

We're looking for a Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of our client’s enterprise data ecosystem. You'll own the data architecture roadmap across AWS and Azure, drive our customers Data & AI transformation, and build the governed, scalable foundation that powers advanced analytics and data products across their business. This is a fulltime, Direct Hire, position at our client. We are a Direct Hire Staffing organization.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Architecture

  • Own the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligned to business and regulatory needs
  • Design scalable, modular data solutions and canonical data models that promote reuse across domains
  • Architect data integration across AWS source systems (Couchbase, MySQL, DynamoDB, InfluxDB), Salesforce, NetSuite, and Azure Fabric as the central Lakehouse
  • Apply data mesh and domain-oriented patterns to enable team autonomy at scale
  • Bring data product thinking to pipelines and analytics platforms — clear owners, SLAs, and user experience
  • Document architecture decisions, system diagrams, data flows, and technology stacks (ADRs)
  • Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, data virtualization, knowledge graphs) and lead proof-of-concepts
  • Enable a 360° customer view by integrating Salesforce CRM, NetSuite ERP, and other enterprise platforms

Governance & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce data governance, quality, metadata, and lineage frameworks
  • Ensure data and AI solutions meet FCC, HIPAA, PCI, and other regulatory requirements

Leadership

  • Partner with IT, business leaders, and product owners on a unified, multi-company data strategy
  • Mentor data engineers and architects on best practices and emerging technologies
  • Champion a data-driven culture across the organization

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 10+ years of enterprise data solution architecture experience
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake / Lakehouse and Medallion architecture.
  • Deep expertise across AWS data services: S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, EMR, Kinesis, Step Functions, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Expert-level knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent) and proven experience designing cloud-native Lakehouse/data platform modernizations
  • Advanced SQL and Python
  • Strong background in relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and streaming platforms (Kafka)
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, and modern orchestration tools
  • API-first architecture experience for data integration and data product consumption
  • Working knowledge of enterprise AI/ML adoption — MLOps, model governance, and scaling AI solutions
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, FCC)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive and technical audiences alike

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or enterprise application integration
  • Experience building Customer 360 platforms
  • Background in telecom, healthcare, or other regulated industries
  • AWS, Azure, or enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)

This is a 100% remote position.
