Data Architect

About the Role
We're looking for a Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of our client’s enterprise data ecosystem. You'll own the data architecture roadmap across AWS and Azure, drive our customers Data & AI transformation, and build the governed, scalable foundation that powers advanced analytics and data products across their business. This is a fulltime, Direct Hire, position at our client. We are a Direct Hire Staffing organization.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Architecture
- Own the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligned to business and regulatory needs
- Design scalable, modular data solutions and canonical data models that promote reuse across domains
- Architect data integration across AWS source systems (Couchbase, MySQL, DynamoDB, InfluxDB), Salesforce, NetSuite, and Azure Fabric as the central Lakehouse
- Apply data mesh and domain-oriented patterns to enable team autonomy at scale
- Bring data product thinking to pipelines and analytics platforms — clear owners, SLAs, and user experience
- Document architecture decisions, system diagrams, data flows, and technology stacks (ADRs)
- Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, data virtualization, knowledge graphs) and lead proof-of-concepts
- Enable a 360° customer view by integrating Salesforce CRM, NetSuite ERP, and other enterprise platforms
Governance & Compliance
- Establish and enforce data governance, quality, metadata, and lineage frameworks
- Ensure data and AI solutions meet FCC, HIPAA, PCI, and other regulatory requirements
Leadership
- Partner with IT, business leaders, and product owners on a unified, multi-company data strategy
- Mentor data engineers and architects on best practices and emerging technologies
- Champion a data-driven culture across the organization
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
- 10+ years of enterprise data solution architecture experience
- Deep experience with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake / Lakehouse and Medallion architecture.
- Deep expertise across AWS data services: S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, EMR, Kinesis, Step Functions, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework
- Expert-level knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent) and proven experience designing cloud-native Lakehouse/data platform modernizations
- Advanced SQL and Python
- Strong background in relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and streaming platforms (Kafka)
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, and modern orchestration tools
- API-first architecture experience for data integration and data product consumption
- Working knowledge of enterprise AI/ML adoption — MLOps, model governance, and scaling AI solutions
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, FCC)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive and technical audiences alike
Nice to Have
- Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or enterprise application integration
- Experience building Customer 360 platforms
- Background in telecom, healthcare, or other regulated industries
- AWS, Azure, or enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
