CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)

THE OPPORTUNITY

As RMC enters its next chapter, we are continuing to evolve our leadership structure to support the growth of our business and our commitment to never being satisfied and always elevating what exceptional service and experience, internal and external, look like in destination management. As part of that evolution, our current Chief Operating Officer is transitioning into an exciting newly created executive role, creating an opportunity to welcome RMC’s next COO, a leader who will lead our foundational business, champion our destination teams, and help support the continued evolution of the RMC experience.

RMC is looking for an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to help lead the in-destination sales and operations of one of the country’s premier destination management companies. For more than three decades, RMC has built its reputation differently: locally, personally, and through relationships. Our teams do not simply operate in the destinations we serve. They live there, know them, love them, and build the local relationships that allow us to create experiences others simply cannot.

As RMC continues to evolve through purposeful growth, we must support our teams, clients, and partners in an ever-changing world without losing the local expertise, relationships, creativity, and extraordinary service that made us successful in the first place. That is where our next COO comes in.

This is not a behind-the-scenes operating role. The COO will be a highly visible commercial and operational leader who works alongside our destination teams, clients, and hotel partners. They will connect sales with execution, develop exceptional leaders, strengthen performance, and help every RMC destination deliver on the promise of the RMC experience.

WHAT YOU’LL LEAD

Commercial Performance & Growth

• Lead revenue execution and profitable growth across RMC’s destination portfolio.
• Strengthen destination sales, pipeline management, forecasting, conversion, retention, and commercial accountability.
• Partner with the Executive & Senior Leadership Teams on RMC’s most important client, hotel, and industry relationships.
• Ensure pricing and commercial decisions support sustainable growth, healthy margins, and long-term client value.

Destination Excellence & Exceptional Service

• Lead performance and operational delivery across RMC’s destinations and markets.
• Ensure every RMC destination consistently delivers the level of service, creativity, and execution our clients and partners expect.
• Spend meaningful time in our markets, understanding opportunities and challenges firsthand and supporting local leaders in delivering exceptional experiences.
• Strengthen resource planning, cross-market collaboration, program execution, and operational consistency without compromising local responsiveness.

Local Leadership, Enterprise Strength

• Lead and develop the Regional Vice Presidents and General Managers through mentorship, accountability, and hands-on support.
• Build operating rhythms and shared standards that make RMC stronger as one company while protecting the local knowledge, relationships, and decision-making that differentiate our destinations.
• Create clear expectations and accountability while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and agility of our local teams.
• Help destinations learn from one another and leverage the strength of the broader RMC organization.

People, Culture & Accountability

• Coach and develop outstanding sales and operations leaders and build a deep, high-performing bench.
• Create a culture where teams and leaders take ownership, solve problems, collaborate across markets, and hold themselves and one another accountable.
• Partner with the executive team on revenue, margin, profitability, and EBITDA performance, using clear data and KPIs to identify opportunities and address gaps.
• Work closely with executives and leaders to keep execution, internal and external experience, people, and culture connected as RMC evolves.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a commercially minded operator and a people-first leader. You can move comfortably from an executive meeting to a hotel partner conversation, from reviewing a multimillion-dollar forecast to sitting alongside a destination leader solving a difficult client or operational challenge.

You understand the numbers and expect accountability, but you do not lead from a spreadsheet. You lead through people, relationships, clarity, and trust. You are comfortable setting high standards and having difficult conversations, but you are equally passionate about coaching people, celebrating success, and helping talented team members become even better.

You believe a strong enterprise should enable local teams, not overpower them. You understand that in a service business, how the result is achieved matters as much as the result itself. And you will never be too senior to roll up your sleeves when a team, client, or partner needs you.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Significant executive leadership experience in a multi-location, service-led organization.
• Demonstrated ownership of revenue growth, sales execution, operations, and P&L performance.
• A track record of building high-performing teams while preserving a strong, people-centered culture.
• Strong client, hotel, partnership development, and negotiation capabilities, with the presence to represent RMC at the highest level.
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams, develop senior leaders, and create accountability without unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Strong financial and business acumen, with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Hospitality, destination management, events, travel, luxury services, or another relationship-led business background strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION & EXECUTIVE INCENTIVE

RMC offers a competitive executive compensation package designed to reward both leadership impact and business performance.

Base Salary: $180,000-$230,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

In addition to base salary, the COO will participate in RMC's Executive Performance Incentive Program, with meaningful additional compensation tied to company, commercial, and individual performance.

Total Annual Compensation Opportunity: For a high-performing executive, anticipated total annual compensation is approximately $300,000-350,000+, inclusive of base salary and performance-based incentives.

We believe exceptional performance should be meaningfully rewarded. The compensation structure for this role is intentionally designed to align the COO's success with the success and growth of RMC.
