Location: Flexible / U.S.-based
Stage: Executing Series B

About Psionic
Psionic is a Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) company building resilient sensing and navigation technologies. Operating at the intersection of advanced sensing, autonomy, and national security, Psionic delivers navigation solutions designed to perform in contested, denied, and degraded environments.
As Psionic prepares for its Series A raise, the company is entering a critical phase of scale-transitioning from technical validation and early deployments to institutional capital, repeatable revenue, and long-term platform growth.
The Role
Psionic is seeking a full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic, executive-level partner to the CEO and leadership team. This role goes far beyond traditional finance leadership-it is central to fundraising, strategic planning, operational scale, and long-term capital markets readiness.
The CFO will own Psionic's financial strategy through the Series A and beyond, build the finance function for scale, and help position the company for future growth events including Series B/C fundraising and potential public-market readiness.
This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role suited for an operator who thrives in high-growth, technically complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Lead financial strategy and execution for the Series A raise, partnering closely with the CEO on investor targeting, diligence, and closing.
- Craft and own the company's financial narrative, metrics, and data room for institutional investors.
- Build long-term relationships with VC firms, strategic investors, banks, and advisors.
- Prepare Psionic for future capital events (Series B/C and beyond).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the Board on financial performance and capital strategy.
Strategic Planning & Financial Leadership (FP&A)
- Develop and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and multi-year operating plans.
- Define capital allocation strategy across R&D, GTM, manufacturing, and partnerships.
- Analyze and report on key performance metrics relevant to growth-stage investors, including:
- Unit economics
- Gross margin evolution
- Revenue mix and contract structures
- Cash runway and burn optimization
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO across product, GTM, and partnership decisions.
Building Scalable Systems & Infrastructure
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable financial infrastructure, including ERP, CRM, and reporting systems.
- Establish strong internal controls, audit readiness, and data integrity processes.
- Ensure the company can reliably track KPIs across engineering, operations, and commercial functions.
- Prepare Psionic for the financial rigor required by institutional investors, customers, and regulators.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build, structure, and mentor the finance and accounting function.
- Establish clear processes for budgeting, approvals, and performance management.
Operational, Legal & Compliance Oversight
- Oversee core operational finance functions including tax compliance, contracts support, and regulatory obligations.
- Partner with legal on corporate governance, equity administration, and compliance.
- Support software selection, vendor management, and operational efficiency initiatives across the company.
Required Background & Skills
Experience
- 10+ years of experience across finance leadership, capital markets, corporate development, or institutional investing.
- Proven track record leading institutional fundraising (Series A/B or later).
- Experience in high-growth technology environments; exposure to deep tech, AI, autonomy, aerospace, defense, or enterprise systems is strongly preferred.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
- Understanding of manufacturing environments, including space systems, high-precision manufacturing, and the financial dynamics of government contracts.
Strategic & Leadership Qualities
- Trusted strategic partner to the CEO with the ability to influence decisions across product, GTM, and operations.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills paired with sound judgment and business intuition.
- Ability to translate complex technical and operational realities into clear financial narratives for investors and boards.
- High integrity, ownership mindset, and ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent credentials are a plus.
- Background demonstrating technical product experience, financial discipline, operational rigor, and leadership maturity.
Why Join Psionic
- Be a core architect of a company shaping the future of resilient navigation and sensing.
- Work alongside a technically strong, mission-driven leadership team.
- Play a defining role in scaling a company with industry and government customers.
- Own financial strategy from Series A through the next chapters of growth.
