Job Summary: The Department of Medicine offers a unique opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of analytic solutions to department leadership, faculty and staff within the department, leveraging a variety of analytic methods, tools, visualizations, and modeling techniques. This includes consultation and the development of trusted advisor relationships with leadership to assess analytics needs and facilitation of solution development by managing multiple concurrent efforts, including projects of significant complexity and risk. The candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, advanced practice providers, revenue cycle team members and health system leaders, coordinating analytics activities across the entire department clinical enterprise.
The selected candidate will lead the work of the Clinical Business Intelligence team to design, develop, test and maintain performance-optimized business intelligence (BI) solutions based on underlying data warehouse structures and the optimal match of user requirements and available data presentation methods and tools. The BI Developer will develop and maintain solution documentation, coaches lower-level BI developers, and performs mid-to-high-level complexity assignments that require a deep understanding of underlying data structures and associated tools. Through a matrix arrangement with the UW Health Enterprise Analytics (EA) department, the BI Developer will have access to clinical, financial, and operational data in order to provide the department with dashboards, quality assurance and clinical operations reporting. It is anticipated that this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

The Business Intelligence Team within the Department of Medicine (DOM) supports clinical operations and quality improvement to improve health outcomes across Wisconsin and beyond.
Compensation: The starting salary for the position is $110,000 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
