General Job Description

The Accounting and Human Resources Specialist supports the Chief Financial Officer in managing the district's financial operations and human resources functions. This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting, financial reporting, payroll, employee benefits, and human resources activities to ensure efficient operations and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, technological, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Overview of Cassopolis

Cassopolis is a small, relatively diverse rural community. Cassopolis is a very community-oriented school district. The district is centered around the village of Cassopolis, which was recently awarded the Community Excellence Award by the Michigan Municipal League, edging out the three other finalists: Farmington Hills, Royal Oak, and Traverse City. The village includes a beach, boardwalk, and many local businesses. The village also includes a developing industrial park. The district consists of three schools (P-5, 6-8, 9-12) and a total of 850 students. One evidence of the close-knit nature of the community is the high percentage of Cassopolis graduates who are working for the school district serving our current students.
