Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Penetration Testers to support authorized security testing of systems, networks, applications, and infrastructure.

In this role, you will conduct approved security assessments to identify and validate vulnerabilities that could affect the security of critical systems and services. You will perform testing within a clearly defined scope and use established penetration testing methodologies to assess potential security weaknesses.

An ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity and penetration testing. You should be comfortable assessing complex environments, identifying security vulnerabilities, validating findings, and clearly documenting their potential impact.

Your work will help identify security gaps and support efforts to strengthen the security and integrity of critical systems and infrastructure.

Project Details

Contract Type: Freelance, with the potential to convert to a full-time role.

Pay Rate: US$9 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Conduct authorized penetration testing and security assessments within the defined project scope.
  • Assess networks, systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure for potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform approved network and infrastructure security testing using established penetration testing methodologies.
  • Identify and validate security weaknesses that could affect the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of systems and data.
  • Analyse identified vulnerabilities and assess their potential impact and severity.
  • Validate findings and collect appropriate supporting evidence.
  • Document testing methods, findings, risk levels, and recommended remediation actions clearly.
  • Communicate identified security risks and findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the validation of remediation efforts and re-test identified issues when required.
  • Follow defined security procedures, ethical standards, and approved testing scope at all times.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, documentation quality, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational background or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, application security, network security, or a related cybersecurity role.
  • Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience assessing networks, infrastructure, systems, or applications for security vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and security controls.
  • Understanding of network protocols, authentication mechanisms, access controls, and system security.
  • Experience using penetration testing and security assessment tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess the technical and potential business impact of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working within authorized and clearly defined security testing environments.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications or specialized penetration testing training are preferred.
