VP Client Partner - Commercial Banking - NYC

EXL is seeking a senior Client Partner with deep Commercial Banking expertise and an established network of senior executive relationships across large U.S. financial institutions.

This role will be responsible for accelerating growth within EXL's strategic commercial banking accounts by expanding relationships with Commercial Banking leaders and creating new opportunities across Commercial Banking organizations.

The successful candidate will leverage existing executive connections and industry expertise to open new buying centers, identify emerging business needs, and position EXL's Data, Analytics, AI, Digital, and Operations capabilities to drive measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor with extensive Commercial Banking experience, strong credibility with senior executives, and a proven track record of expanding business within large banking organizations.

Responsibilities

Commercial Banking Account Growth

  • Develop and execute Commercial Banking growth strategies across EXL's strategic banking accounts.
  • Expand and strengthen relationships with Commercial Banking executives and key decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across Commercial Banking, Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, Credit Risk, Client Coverage, and Banking Operations.
  • Partner closely with existing account teams to increase wallet share, expand into new buying centers, and drive revenue growth.
  • Translate client priorities and business challenges into opportunities aligned with EXL's consulting and transformation capabilities.

Executive Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior Commercial Banking executives.
  • Leverage a broad network of Commercial Banking leaders to create access to new stakeholders and business opportunities.
  • Lead strategic conversations around growth, profitability, risk management, operational efficiency, digital transformation, data modernization, and AI-enabled innovation.
  • Establish EXL as a valued strategic partner to Commercial Banking organizations.

Opportunity Origination & Solution Development

  • Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities aligned with client business priorities.
  • Shape client discussions around data, analytics, AI, digital transformation, customer experience, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with EXL solution leaders and delivery teams to develop compelling business cases, proposals, and executive presentations.
  • Support pursuit activities, executive workshops, and strategic account planning initiatives.

Industry & Market Leadership

  • Maintain deep expertise in Commercial Banking trends, market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape.
  • Provide industry insights and market intelligence to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent EXL at industry conferences, executive forums, client events, and leadership briefings.
  • Serve as a Commercial Banking subject matter expert for strategic account teams and business leaders.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Commercial Banking consulting, financial services consulting, banking transformation, or banking technology/services consulting.
  • Deep expertise across Commercial Banking, including Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, Credit Risk, Client Coverage, and Banking Operations.
  • Extensive network of senior Commercial Banking executives and decision-makers across large U.S. banks.
  • Proven success expanding business relationships, opening new buying centers, and driving revenue growth within existing client accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage C-suite and senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying, shaping, and closing complex transformation opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled transformation within banking.
  • Exceptional executive presence, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and consultative selling capabilities.

Education & Location

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Based in the New York metropolitan area.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
