Undergraduate Program Manager
Join the Communication Disorders team in supporting students as they prepare for meaningful careers serving individuals, families, and communities. The Undergraduate Program Manager plays a vital role in creating a coordinated, responsive, and engaging undergraduate experience by leading key administrative processes, supporting experiential learning, coordinating student and part-time faculty employment, and facilitating admissions, events, communications, and student engagement. Working collaboratively with faculty, department leaders, advisors, and university partners, this position helps students progress successfully through their programs and prepares them to contribute through professional excellence, lifelong learning, and service—advancing BYU’s mission to develop students of faith, intellect, and character.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Lead the department’s experiential learning administration, ensuring students have meaningful opportunities to apply their knowledge through research, clinical, service, and other professional experiences.
- Monitor student participation and prepare reports that help faculty and department leaders identify gaps, evaluate program effectiveness, and strengthen experiential learning opportunities.
- Manage the full employment lifecycle for undergraduate student employees, including hiring, onboarding, appointments, documentation, tracking, and semester transitions.
- Coordinate undergraduate admissions and student support processes, providing timely guidance to prospective and current students and ensuring accurate communication of program requirements, decisions, and academic updates.
- Administer the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and contracting processes for part-time undergraduate faculty to ensure instructional staffing needs are met each semester.
- Plan and support department events, student organizations, and peer mentoring initiatives that promote connection, belonging, leadership, and engagement among undergraduate students.
- Serve as a key communications resource for the department by maintaining accurate, engaging website and program content and responding to inquiries from students, families, professionals, and community members.
- Collaborate with department, college, and university partners to improve processes, resolve operational issues, support strategic initiatives, and ensure undergraduate services are coordinated, accurate, and responsive.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- Associate degree and 3 years of relevant administrative, program coordination, student services, human resources, or related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience in higher education, HR, or student program support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to serve as a resource to students, faculty, and administrators.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing departmental priorities and to ever-changing technological environments.
- Advanced Word and Adobe Acrobat skills.
- Intermediate skills with spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of BYU systems, such as AIM, Workday, Coursedog, etc.
- Experience with program management in an academic setting.
- Strategic social media experience.

Pay Grade: 48
Typical Starting Pay: $20.75 to $27.00 an hour
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
