Treatment Plant Operator: Deerfield Treatment Plant

State Role Title: Utility Plant Specialist II

Hiring Range: $42,786.00 - $66,746.00

Job Duties

Position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, laboratory analysis & documentation at the water and wastewater plants. Ensures safe potable water is provided to all consumers and wastewater effluent discharge meets all Federal and State guidelines.

We offer apprenticeship/trainee opportunities which provide on-the-job training and support that prepares the candidate to test for and obtain professional licensure in water and/or waste-water treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have some understanding of water and wastewater operations or quickly learn how to handle chemicals, understand biological control for wastewater treatment and water treatment. Ability to diagnose and correct problems and make mechanical repairs.

Water and wastewater treatment experience must be achieved in determined time. All required training must be completed by due dates. Trainee status is accepted but must obtain proper license level within determined time allowed.
