PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
This role will manage a team of Desktop Administrators to support all Danis technology users with a focus on Jobsite technology, Mobile and Endpoint computing. This is a hands-on management role which will include Day to day team management, Project Management, Inventory management, process improvement and procurement.
DUTIES:
- Manage the Jobsite & Desktop Technical Services Team. Evaluate performance, set goals, conduct reviews, focus on employee development.
- Provide metrics on team support tasks, projects, and current operating state to the Director of Information Technology.
- Responsible for the support of Desktop and Mobile devices throughout the organization.
- Coordinate Jobsite technology deployments with Operations Project team members, 3rd party vendors and internal resources.
- Organize and delegate assignments to team members.
- Planning and development of projects.
- Provide employee technical training as a part of Danis University as well as New Hire orientation.
- Install, configure, upgrade, maintain and support PC systems based on customer service requests and established baseline configurations.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures to avoid system failures.
- Create installation packages to roll out enterprise software using MS SCCM.
- Administer the MS SCCM application and environment.
- Perform routine and up-to-date patching of desktop operating systems and applications.
- Recommend computers hardware, software and other hardware peripherals for purchase.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate support teams for resolutions.
- Maintain the MDM environment across all tablets and mobile devices.
- Evaluate software that is supplied by a third-party vendor by testing compatibility with existing hardware and software.
- Perform direct support requests for inquires on the phone, walkups and in the field.
- Perform technical support at remote locations as needed.
- Perform repairs and replacements of software, hardware and peripherals.
- Provide assistance to other Administrators when requested.
- Perform failure analysis and determine corrective action plans.
- Oversee inventory management of software and hardware components.
- Maintain accurate documentation for system installations, incident reports, configurations, upgrades and standard operating procedures.
- Act as the primary contact for approved cellular service providers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the orientation / training / development of employees.
- Promote teamwork and positive and communication among employees.
- Attend and participate in miscellaneous functions and meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas when needed.
- Perform additional assignments and assume additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors.
- Plan and execute allotted work within deadlines and maintain records of daily tasks.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Expert knowledge of Windows Desktop Enterprise operating systems (version 10, 11).
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
- Experience with desktop imaging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Strong understanding of MS Intune.
- Experience using Active Directory.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on company activities.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Apply proven written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of Information Services systems investments.
- Ability to meet or beat assignments, budgets and schedules accurately.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in IT related field preferred.
- 3+ years managing a team.
- 10+ years related experience.
- Microsoft MCTS and/or MCSA Certification preferred.
- Construction Industry experience is also preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Spends much of their time in an office environment. Sometimes travels locally by automobile to others’ offices, and occasionally by airlines, as appropriate. Needs to be able to sit for long periods of time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on ladders. Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials. Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Stand or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. Must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction).
