Job Summary

Aprio is seeking a Tax Manager, Private Client Tax to lead a dedicated team of tax professionals in delivering exceptional compliance, consulting, and planning services to private clients. In this role, you will develop and implement forward-thinking tax strategies, manage complex client relationships, and stay ahead of an evolving regulatory environment. You will serve as a trusted advisor on high-impact matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and multi-entity planning while driving team performance and mentoring the next generation of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, delegating responsibilities and overseeing work product to ensure quality and timeliness
  • Develop and implement tax strategies by staying current with changing tax laws and regulations and identifying planning opportunities
  • Provide consulting services to clients on mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring
  • Conduct tax research to remain current with evolving tax laws and identify opportunities for tax planning
  • Prepare and review tax returns — including S-Corp, Partnership, Individual, and Corporate — ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Communicate with clients, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure all tax-related matters are managed effectively and efficiently
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring consistent satisfaction and service excellence
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting
  • Experience with S-Corp, Partnership, Individual, and Corporate returns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in tax software and technology
  • Experience managing a team
  • Master's degree in Taxation (preferred)
  • CPA (Required)

$98,500 - $164,000 a year. The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
