The Senior Operational Excellence Analyst independently leads process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives across clinical and administrative operations, applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify inefficiencies, redesign workflows, and deliver measurable, sustainable performance gains. This role serves as a subject-matter expert (SME) within the department, mentoring Analysts and coordinating with stakeholders across multiple service lines. In addition to leading process improvement work, the Senior Analyst provides advanced project management support, helping structure, govern, and track multi-stakeholder initiative. This position blends hands-on improvement leadership with the project discipline needed to sustain a high-performing team.
Generally, requires 3 to 5 years of experience leading or co-leading process improvement projects and applying Lean Six Sigma and Project Management methodologies in a healthcare or similarly environment.
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field is required.
Demonstrated healthcare operations experience, with direct exposure to clinical workflows, administrative processes, and/or revenue cycle functions. Working knowledge of project and process improvement methodologies, including PMBOK, Agile, Lean, and Lean Six Sigma, with the ability to select and apply the right framework based on initiative complexity. Change management skills, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and driving adoption and sustainment of newly redesigned processes. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate meetings, workshops, and working sessions that keep initiatives moving toward decisions and action. Ability to mentor and develop less experienced analysts, including reviewing their process improvement work and building their proficiency in Lean Six Sigma tools and methods. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced data and statistical analysis, root cause identification, and support for evidence-based decision-making. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, including ClickUp, SharePoint, MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear status reports, executive-level presentations, and summaries for varied audiences. Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to think strategically and connect day-to-day work to broader organizational impact.
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is required. Project Management professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
