Position Summary

The Torque Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer operating at or near a Lead Engineer level to help deliver, support, and strategically evolve the enterprise platform that enables secure, governed, data access. We are prioritizing Software Engineers with Platform Engineering experience over traditional Data Engineers. The ideal candidate builds and operates secure, scalable platform services (APIs, access management, infrastructure automation). This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership. The successful candidate will not only build and support platform capabilities but will also help determine the most effective and efficient way to deliver them — thinking beyond individual tickets or teams to the enterprise-wide scale, security, governance, and sustainability of these platforms.

A technical coding assessment is part of the interview process, and candidates must be able to code hands-on — this is non-negotiable.

Must-Have Requirements

• Must be a Software Engineer with Platform Engineering experience — not a traditional Data Engineer
• Overall Experience: 5+ years in Software, Cloud, or Platform Engineering
• Required Technical Skills: AWS Services, Access & Security, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, Lake Formation (access policy enforcement), Entra AD, Lambda, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Open Table Format S3 (Iceberg), RDS/PostgreSQL, Redshift, Glue (Catalog, ETL, Crawler), Athena
• Strong hands-on coding in Python
• Infrastructure: Terraform Enterprise, Infrastructure as Code, Git
