Job Description

Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management & Leadership: Hire, train, schedule and supervise advisors, technicians and support staff. Coach employees on sales techniques and tactics, technical training programs and education and customer service standards.
  • Financial & Budget Management: Forecast department goals, manage budgets, regulate expenses, monitor labor efficiency, and track financial benchmarks.
  • Customer Relations & Escalations: Handle escalated customer complaints, resolve issues transparently, review CSI Scores, and oversee follow-up calls to retain clientele and drive new repeat and new business.
  • Workflow & Operations Oversight: Coordinate daily shop workflow, schedule repair appointments, monitor technician production and productivity and FFV and ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure the workplace complies with all safety standards, EPA regulations and manufacturer warranty policies.
  • Administrative & Inventory Control: Oversee department paperwork, including repair orders, warranty flow, maintenance records, work with the Parts Department for efficient flow through the shop.

Service Manager Requirements:

  • Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
  • R&R Experience very helpful
  • Ability to identify the problem quickly
  • Knowledge of automobiles
  • Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant
  • Very energetic personality
  • A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization
  • Personal and professional integrity
  • Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in service department environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent
