Lead planning and execution of factory electrical infrastructure and workcenter buildouts that translate production requirements into operational manufacturing space. You'll be responsible for driving owner-side electrical infrastructure planning, coordinating utility service and distribution upgrades, and leading technical execution of electrical infrastructure projects supporting factory development and manufacturing equipment deployment. This role requires strong electrical engineering expertise, cross-functional problem-solving, and the ability to make day-to-day technical decisions that keep projects aligned with production goals, schedules, and budgets.
Electrical Supply & Capacity Planning: Lead planning and execution of factory electrical supply strategies by evaluating current and future power demand, utility service capacity, and infrastructure requirements supporting manufacturing growth. Serve as the primary owner-side engineering interface with utility providers to coordinate service upgrades, line extensions, infrastructure requirements, and energization schedules. Partner with external A&E firms to evaluate phased power delivery strategies and alternative supply solutions considering cost, schedule, reliability, technical risk, and long-term scalability.
Factory Electrical Distribution: Lead planning and technical execution of factory electrical distribution infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, feeders, and equipment power connections. Define electrical infrastructure requirements, evaluate distribution capacity, and review A&E-developed designs for alignment with factory requirements, applicable codes, constructability, reliability, and scalability. Coordinate with A&E partners, electrical contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure distribution systems support manufacturing equipment deployment and future factory expansion.
Electrical Engineering & Equipment Integration: Lead owner-side electrical engineering coordination from initial concept development through construction and equipment commissioning. Establish electrical infrastructure requirements and review engineering deliverables prepared by external A&E partners, including load calculations, single-line diagrams, power distribution plans, grounding requirements, equipment specifications, and electrical system studies. Evaluate equipment interfaces, facility hookup requirements, and infrastructure constraints to develop practical solutions supporting manufacturing readiness.
Data & IT Infrastructure: Lead planning and cross-functional coordination of factory data and IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations and equipment deployment. Partner with IT stakeholders, engineering teams, and equipment vendors to define infrastructure requirements, resolve integration constraints, and ensure alignment with factory development plans.
Factory Controls & Automation: Lead planning and technical coordination of facility controls and automation infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations. Partner with controls engineering, IT, facilities, and equipment vendors to establish system requirements, resolve technical interfaces, and coordinate integration into factory infrastructure and construction plans.
Electrical Construction & Installation: Lead technical coordination for electrical infrastructure, construction, and equipment installation activities by serving as the primary engineering point of contact for electrical scope, infrastructure requirements, and equipment integration. Review contractor submittals, vendor shop drawings, and technical RFIs to verify alignment with engineering requirements and drive resolution of technical issues. Partner with construction coordinators, facilities teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve field constraints, support construction sequencing, and drive electrical testing, commissioning, and energization readiness.
Factory & Work Center Buildout Planning: Lead development and execution of factory and workcenter buildout strategies by defining and optimizing equipment integration strategies, infrastructure requirements, and deployment solutions while reviewing factory layouts and assessing manufacturing and facility constraints. Lead technical coordination across engineering, procurement, operations, and facilities stakeholders to establish deployment strategies that support manufacturing capacity planning, operational efficiency, safety, production ramp timelines, and long-term scalability.
Project Schedule Ownership & Capital Project Coordination: Drive technical execution strategy, deployment schedule alignment, and critical path coordination for factory development initiatives by proactively identifying infrastructure dependencies, integration risks, and manufacturing readiness gaps. Lead technical evaluations of capital infrastructure alternatives considering scope, cost, schedule, performance, and scalability. Support project scope development, budget planning, contractor proposals, and procurement activities while driving corrective actions required to maintain execution alignment with production objectives.
Cross-Functional Engineering & Continuous Improvement: Lead cross-functional technical coordination across engineering, operations, facilities, supply chain, contractors, OEM vendors, and external partners to resolve complex engineering challenges and maintain alignment across factory development activities. Develop and maintain factory configuration records, infrastructure standards, technical requirements, and deployment documentation. Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering execution, infrastructure planning, deployment consistency, and repeatable factory development methods.
Work is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing, and active construction environments. Frequent time spent on the factory floor coordinating construction, infrastructure work, and equipment installation activities. Requires regular movement throughout manufacturing facilities, electrical rooms, equipment installation zones, and active construction areas. Required use of appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves) while on the factory floor or construction site. May occasionally require early mornings, evenings, or weekend support during critical installation, commissioning, or construction milestones.
