Jackson Health System is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Corporate Director of Infection Prevention, a high-impact enterprise role responsible for advancing patient safety, healthcare epidemiology, and infection prevention excellence across one of the nation's largest public academic health systems. This position provides strategic leadership for system-wide infection prevention programs across acute care hospitals, ambulatory settings, specialty services, and emerging models of care.
As a trusted advisor to executive leadership, physicians, nursing, quality, and operational teams, you will drive innovative strategies that reduce healthcare-associated infections, enhance regulatory readiness, strengthen outbreak preparedness, and promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization. The ideal Candidate is a visionary healthcare leader who understands that infection prevention is more than compliance- it is foundational to patient safety, quality, and organizational excellence.
Proven ability to influence leaders, inspire teams, translate complex data into action, and deliver measurable results.
This is not a traditional Infection Prevention role. This is an opportunity to:
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required. Progressive leadership experience in infection prevention, healthcare epidemiology, patient safety, quality, or a related discipline. Demonstrated success leading complex programs and multidisciplinary teams at the enterprise-wide level. Experience in a large academic medical center or integrated healthcare system. Strong communication, strategic planning, and change management skills.
Bachelor's degree in related field is required. (Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field). Master's degree is strongly preferred (MPH, MSN, MHA, MBA, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field).
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) highly preferable.
