Quality Assurance Administrator

Denali Family Services supports the wellness of Alaska’s youth and families through community-based behavioral health services. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Administrator to oversee medical records and quality assurance and serve as the agency’s Privacy Officer. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position leads the Medical Records and Quality Assurance teams and helps ensure that records, privacy practices, and improvement processes meet agency and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do

• Supervise Medical Records and Quality Assurance staff, including performance feedback and evaluations.
• Serve as the agency’s Privacy Officer and advise leadership on privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Oversee the accuracy, integrity, retention, and appropriate release of client medical records.
• Develop and review policies and conduct audits of documentation and safeguards for protected health information.
• Coordinate performance and quality improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Partner with agency leadership and other departments on training, compliance reviews, and improvements to agency practices.

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in medical records or health information management, including application of healthcare privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Experience in at least one of these areas: quality assurance or compliance; data collection, analysis, and reporting; interpreting and applying healthcare regulations; or employee supervision or team leadership.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Ability to meet applicable state and federal background check requirements.
• An advanced degree or relevant certification in health information management, healthcare privacy, or compliance—such as RHIA, CHPS, or a comparable credential—is preferred.
