Public services manager

Duties Provides in-person, online, phone and email reference service to Miller Library patrons, including students, faculty, staff and members of the larger Grant County community. Works with the Access Services Librarian as co-leads in the reference department, including keeping statistics, assessment of reference services, coordinating reference procedures for reference staff. Maintains the library’s print subscription collections. Assists the Instruction / Outreach Librarian with library instruction and outreach as necessary. Recommends materials for purchase in assigned subject categories. Hires, supervises, trains WNMU student assistants as necessary. Works with the Digitization Team (Access Librarian & Digital Initiatives Librarian) to digitize and catalog archival material. Participates in library & WNMU committees. Creates displays promoting library resources. Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with WNMU personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy. Performs other duties as assigned.
