Job Description
Are you an experienced Property Manager looking for an opportunity to lead a thriving community while making a meaningful impact on residents and team members? Oakbrook Corporation is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee a beautiful apartment community on Madison's west side.
This role is ideal for a property management professional who enjoys building relationships, leading teams, driving occupancy, and creating an exceptional living experience for residents. You'll have the autonomy to manage daily operations while being supported by a respected company with a strong reputation throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all aspects of daily property operations
- Deliver outstanding customer service and promptly respond to resident concerns
- Lead, train, and support onsite team members
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, and business partners
- Ensure compliance with Affordable Housing programs, including Section 42 requirements
- Process resident move-ins, annual recertifications, and income/asset verifications
- Manage occupancy goals, leasing activity, and resident retention efforts
- Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, and resident communications
- Prepare monthly reports and monitor property performance
- Assist with budget preparation and expense monitoring
- Review leases and ensure compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations
- Oversee property inspections and maintain community standards
- Manage delinquency and collection procedures
- Respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary
- Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's core values in every interaction
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous residential property management experience
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform routine property inspections with or without reasonable accommodation
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Affordable Housing experience, including Section 42/LIHTC
- Experience managing multifamily communities
