Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, on-site Senior Project Engineer to lead and accomplish engineering effort, with critical skills in design management and construction support for large-scale infrastructure and security-oriented projects. You will be the technical backbone of physical security installations and infrastructure deployments, ensuring complex designs are translated flawlessly into hardened, high-performing facilities.

Operating strictly on-site, you will serve as the primary technical liaison between project management, multidisciplinary design teams, and physical security engineers, and you will interface with construction management to deliver mission-critical projects on schedule and within budget. The role carries accountability for the full engineering lifecycle of assigned scope, from project definition and design development through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Security Design Management
  • Coordinate security and infrastructure design interfaces, aligning MEP, structural, network architectures, and specialized physical and electronic security subsystems
  • Integrate multidisciplinary design work across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, network, security, and facility system interfaces
  • Use Aproove for collaborative online proofing, ensuring security layouts, structures, communications, site work, and associated construction drawings and schematics undergo rigorous review and approval
  • Conduct strict constructability reviews targeting high-security requirements, physical barriers, access control layouts, and critical utility pathing
  • Lead combined Project Engineer and Field Engineer functions as the accountable engineering point of contact for assigned scope, integrating decisions across the project
  • Lead engineering coordination with designers of record, construction subcontractors, facility operations, safety, security, quality, and other stakeholders
  • Manage engineering changes and technical resolution, including Field Change Requests, Design Revision Notices, Requests for Information, nonconformance dispositions, design clarifications, and field change evaluations
  • On-Site Construction & Commercial Support
  • Manage technical document control, submittals, and RFIs from the job site using ProjectSight as a single, real-time source of truth
  • Perform cost engineering and progress tracking in Delta, evaluating subcontractor change orders, managing cost projections, and maintaining commercial compliance
  • Provide technical resolution for complex field conflicts, ensuring infrastructure changes do not breach security design intent
  • Track critical scheduling milestones using Microsoft Office tools, optimizing sequencing for high-security component handoffs and site testing
  • Enforce quality control through routine field inspections that verify installations meet structural specifications and security classifications
  • Evaluate design outputs and construction activities for code compliance, quality requirements, configuration management, safety interfaces, security impacts, and applicable engineering procedures
  • Identify technical, schedule, construction, and interface risks, develop practical resolution paths, and elevate matters requiring management decisions
  • Support commissioning, turnover, closeout, and records completion for a compliant transition of completed work to the customer
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on-site in infrastructure delivery and security compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of project engineering experience focused on commercial infrastructure, civil works, or high-security and government-adjacent facilities
  • Hands-on, proficient experience with ProjectSight or equivalent project management software, Delta for cost and financial tracking, Aproove or equivalent proofing and design review software, and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional attention to detail regarding physical layout compliance, strict document control, and clear communication under tight project deadlines
  • Proven ability to make sound technical decisions, coordinate diverse stakeholders, manage technical risk, and communicate clear, timely engineering direction
  • DOE Q Clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Willingness and capability to work 100% onsite at designated project locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading work through design, field execution, turnover, and closeout in a high-consequence, security-sensitive, or nuclear facility environment

Mandatory Requirements - Read Before Applying

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of project engineering experience in commercial infrastructure, civil works, or high-security and government-adjacent facilities
  • Hands-on experience with ProjectSight (or equivalent), Delta cost tracking, and Aproove (or equivalent)
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite, no remote or hybrid
