Facilities Management (FM) at the University of Virginia has an exciting opportunity for a Zone Maintenance Supervisor who supports FM’s goal of providing consistent, cost effective, and reliable maintenance and service to the University facilities in North Grounds. The North Grounds Zone provides facilities services to the University’s Darden School of Business, School of Law, School of Data Science, Department of Finance, Parking and Transportation, North Grounds Recreation Center, the Miller Center, and the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, as well as other properties consisting of 1.8 million square feet distributed through 30 buildings. Our portfolio includes academic and office buildings, as well as residential spaces.
The Zone Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisor who will serve in a critical role to enable organizational success by leading their team to operate, maintain, diagnose, and repair building equipment and systems. The Supervisor provides coaching, performance management, guidance, and leadership to zone maintenance personnel assigned to the work group. They also provide a positive leadership culture that reinforces the University’s commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $38 - $44 per hour ($79,040 - $91,520 Annually), commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time non-exempt position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
For the position, the selected candidate will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
The employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks). The employee must have normal vision and hearing (correctable), and for some areas of employment, color vision and sense of smell.
