RESPONSIBILITIES
Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Planner to plan and implement production schedules for various product lines. Coordinates multiple activities to ensure on-time delivery, production and inventory goals are met. Work with Procurement and Operations Manager to maintain a minimum of inventory to support the production schedules. Coordinate with Production Supervisors, Sales, Logistics personnel to assure that the HFS customer needs are met. This position reports to the Master Schedular at the installation tooling manufacturing facility located in Kingston, NY.

Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and schedules orders to assure HFS customers’ needs are met. Releases work orders to production as required;
- Assists with forecasting end item and component demands as needed;
- Coordinates with Procurement to ensure supplier’s delivery schedules to meet production needs;
- Monitors resource requirements to assure schedule requirements are met; coordinates the balance between demand and supply;
- Maintains minimum inventory to support the production schedule. Works with other operations staff to develop lean manufacturing solutions;
- Interfaces with other departments (Logistics, Customer Service, Marketing, Engineering, Quality) to resolve problems with timely delivery or disposition of rejection notices;
- Interfaces with production to resolve problems relevant to raw material quality, quantity verification, and work order closure problems;
- Assists with the generation, analysis, and distribution of production and inventory level reports to management;
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement on a daily basis by your actions. Takes the initiative to resolve planning issues with interaction from Team Leaders. Willingly participates with production teams to resolve production, purchasing and planning issues;
- Performs other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.

- The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
Education:
- Associate degree required. Preferably in Business or Supply chain management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Two (2) years’ experience in production planning;
- Experience working with a business forecast, master production schedule and MRP systems;
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Supply Chain Management:
- Production planning experience in CNC production environment.
Skills
Basic Skills:
- Working knowledge of MRP system;
- Proficient with Microsoft excel and Word;
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing;
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of LN or Baan MRP programs;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, formulas, charts, etc.
